Green mode - miles saved counter intermittent fail and even resets

I drive in Green Mode often times as I'm more of a careful driver that always looks ahead, far far out, and the traffic is not too bad here in Portland area. And I like seeing good gas mileage. It's more like a challenge for me.

My coast function works fine, but I experienced some F56/F56S coast doesn't work at all. When I coast, the "miles saved in Green Mode" numbers should increase but it doesn't. Even if I coast for more than 1 mile, it doesn't add any to that gauge.

Last week when I drove a long stretch on a highway for more than 100 miles, I got +15.0 miles shown on the dash. I was cruising at 65mph in Green Mode the whole time. BTW, the speedo is faster by about 3%. If you think you are going 65mph, you are actually going 63mph. Probably affects the odometer too.

I refilled gas after that. Every time I refill gas, I reset all the counters.

When I drive normally in Green Mode, sometimes the counter would keep accumulating the saved miles, sometimes not. And sometimes the counter even resets on its own. I had this happen twice just this week. It was counting +0.2 miles, and then it reset to 0.0 miles. Nothing else was reset or anything.

Does anyone using Green Mode with newer software have this problem too?
My F56 has 14-07-506 which is a July software version. Picked up my car in November 2014.

Displayed speed [versus OBDII data] in BMWs has historically been intentionally high. Plug in a scan-tool and you can read actual speed.

Any idea why they do that, and if they can fix it via software changes?
I want to see dead accurate speed, not some bogus number that I have to guess again what my real speed is. Yes, I looked at the speed data coming from ODB, and it seems correct.
My Mazda speedo displays the correct speed. I know in the past, Hyundai Elantra also displayed about 5% faster than actual speed.

Cool

Mine has always read 6% faster than actual (Garmin GPS) speed. It's European law.

ScanGauge (Link in sig below) is pretty accurate, reading from MINI's OBD (Car Computer) so you know the inaccuracy is intentionally programmed into speedometer.

Odometer reads a couple percent high as well. Factory Standard 15" wheels and a new set of Michelin Sport Pilot's.

Did get overall trip average (8,000+ miles) of 34+ MPG driving speed limit or higher from Florida to California plus local along the way trips and back (60% Interstates).

My 2015 F55' green mode goes crazy too.
I had it up above 50 coast miles.
At times I could coast 1/2 mile and it adds . 2 or .3
Other coasts and nothing, I easily coasted 60 miles on a full tank.
I was getting really low on fuel and the + numbers started going down.
I called mini and they have no idea why it's doing this.
My question is why have a feature that doesn't work properly ?

Sounds like it needs flashed for an update, I would call the dealership and ask if there us a newer flash.
