Radio Issues

My 2014 F56, For some reason, the radio seems to stop playing sound and no matter what i do (turn car off, on) radio still wont play any sound. The radio is on and working but no sound is coming out of the speakers. I took it in to get looked at and of course it works fine when in the dealership.

However, I take it back home and it happens again. It seems to fix itself after i turn of the car and leave it off for about 10-15 and then turn the car back on.

Not sure what the deal is. Dealer looked at it and couldn't find anything wrong. (Always seems to work fine when at the dealer).

Frustrating, I like listening to tunes when driving! But listening to the engine is just as nice.

Anyone have a similar issue?

OK, so you're not getting sound from your iPhone?

How is it connected?

I don't have anything hooked up to the car. I am talking about the actually radio. No sound coming from the radio whether I'm using, sat radio, am, fm etc. Its on and active but no sound.

Works after I turn the car off and turning it back on like 10-15 minutes later.

And other sources play OK (phone, iPod, or USB)? That's very odd. I'd say it was a wiring/connection problem between the radio and the speakers.

No, Nothing works on the radio. (It's on and functioning but no sound, no matter what i try to use usb, iphone, sat, fm, am etc. Its very frustrating!

It only starts playing sound again after i turn the car off and come back out 15 minutes later to start it up.

I would wait for it to happen to you then drive it over to the dealer and leave it running so they can see it happen

There have been some reported problems with the amp, but those have loud noises associated with them.

This sounds similar:

I had the same issue except I had no sounds whatsoever including navigation instructions. They ended up replacing the amp and all has been fine since.

Ahh, I'll take it into the dealer again and see what they can do. Thanks for the info!

Yes, that was me and all has been fine since then. In my situation there were absolutely no sounds coming from the car. On my first trip to the dealer I was using the onboard navigation and 5 minutes from the dealer it scared the hell out of me because I had the volume almost all the way up and it suddenly started working! But it finally failed about 2-3 weeks later.

Are you aware that your can has a ASD unit? All the sound travels through this. Does the car seem quieter - especially in sport mode - when the speakers shut down? If so the ASD is the problem or the connector which is hidden in the panel beside the left rear seat. Also check the fuse is installed properly.

My car is fine now, they replaced the Amp and it's been fine since then. Maybe that's the issue with the other poster.

Same here. That's a good amp for it's weight and size. Glad it is working correctly.

2017 F56 JCW radio issues

Hello, I'm new and hoping that I am posting in the correct area.
I have a 2017 F56 JCW. It was totaled when I purchased it so there is no help from the dealer. The AM and FM radio only works some times. Not temp related at all, nothing seems obvious. When working you can store stations etc. When its quits even the manual tuning line stays at 88 and will not move. When it starts working again all the stations are gone. The external devices (Bluetooth) always work. I am guessing that the receiver is bad but I don't want to just replace parts without asking first. Has anyone had this issue? Any guidance would be appreciated.
