Brake noise

Brake noise
I took my 2009 JCW with 6000 miles into the dealer with brake noise. Best I can decribe the noise is that it sounds like drum brakes with worn out shoes.I also have a squeek when I use them in reverse. The noise is less after they warm up a bit but still there. I have the Brembo brakes. The dealer says their fine and the noise is due to Bi-metalic pads. I know they work better when warmed up, but I think the noise is exsessive. Has anyone run into this situation .I told them to check the right rear rotor as it looked like it had more than 6000 miles wear. They said it's fine.
Thanks

OK, so the original poster doesn't have a Countryman to ask about, but I do. And since the posting has already been made, I thought I'd pull it back to the CM.
I only have about 3,000 miles on my CM4 but I've noticed the very audible sound of the brakes when stopping. This is my first MINI, but I can't recall any of the disk-brake-equipped cars in my past sounding quite so loud - not squeal, just the sound of two surfaces rubbing together. If I heard this on an earlier vehicle I'd be out looking to see if I'd run out of brake pads.
Is it to be expected?

I've got 800 miles on my CS and hear the same noise. Have never experienced this with a Euro car. Ask my service mgr if Mini may have changed the pad compound and at first just blew it off. More we talked we said give it more miles and bring it in if it didn't clear up. I knew it wouldn't and what you're saying confirms it. He said they may have to replace the pads. I won't be able to get mine in for service for about 4 weeks. Please post if you find out anything.

Unfortunately the JCW brakes are noisy, especially in reverse.
After break-in, my JCW now makes a light sqeak for a short moment often when breaking while driving forwards. In reverse, it's a little embarrassing because they are LOUD. Loud enough that people will look as I am reversing.
Not sure if a mod can move this to the right sub-forum.
