update: i'm very impressed with how the plasti dip is holding up. after 5-6 power sprayer washes and roughly 1,000 miles driven - ALL areas i've plasti dipped are holding up extremely well. no peeling, no bubbling, nothing...just works like magic. in fact because of 3-5 layers that i've done (in all areas), the front grill trim pieces have been resisting rock chips very well...none that i can see so far.
conclusion: 2 thumbs up on the plasti dip approach.
ps - my jcw's entire front end is clear filmed with xpel ultimate (the only film i have always used), front roof edge, a-pillars, lower half of sides and rear bumper upper side.

I too have plasti dipped belt line. It has its limits. About a 12-18 months. I have 6 coats on my belt line put on with a sprayer, not a can. It still looks good, but the dip slowly shrinks over time. Once it starts it seems to be more prone to rock/bug chips and becomes brittle (sort of since its still stretchy).
So I am going to pull my dip off and put the Super 88 on. See how that goes.

This was a while ago and I was just playing around with it. The stripes however are not my work of course.....not plasti dip.

You can see my masking with 3M exterior paint tape (straight year when you yank on the tape). Goal is to have enough of an overspray layer beyond area you want to cover such that you and peel off what you don't need when finished.

JUST SCROLLED DOWN: wow! dude you own some really sweet cars!!! and you took great shots of dipping the detail and masking them. amazing photos! hahaha are you a professional car guy???
so you plasti dipped the beltline? by masking it? OK. I guess I have to do it. YOUR BODY WORK LOOKS GREAT ****! REALLY PROFESSIONAL.
couldn't help noticing your shoe rack in the background. hahaha little OCD huh? me too.

Don't worry if you make mistakes. It's not permanent. Simply peel off after it dries and do over. Any overspray is simple to wipe off with an MF towel. It's just like latex is all.
Yep, pretty OCD. Pretty much nothing is on garage floor because I have indoor car wash in my garage and like to hose the floor off easily.

Plasti dip doesn't fly around as much as regular spray paint since Plasti dip is heavier. However, I do cover the car with a thin sheet of painter's plastic sheeting I bought in a 40 yard roll on Amazon. You see it in the pix.

hahah indoor car wash. that's classic. great! yeah i can see you love cars to be toying with a JCW after owning a Lambo. I live in Malibu and some of my neighbors only take their Lambos out on Sunday so they can drive 40 mph down Sunset Blvd. hahaha not car guys. they're car poseurs. hahaha THANKS FOR THE TIPS ****!!!
When spraying the Plasti dip, try to do even strokes at 10" away. Don't spray to close and don't pause in middle of stroke. Patience and not spray too thick of a coat. Multiple thin layers give better result and is smoother finish.
Unfortunate but true...most super car owners are posers I'm afraid. I drive mine like I stole it and have hit 170 ish mph in the Lambo and almost 5,000 miles after 25 months of buying it new. Heck I go grocery shopping in it sometimes for fun. I'm taking it autocrossing next weekend but would normally autocross in the JCW.

wow man you live the life! AND AWESOME GARAGE!!!! NEVER SEEN ANYTHING SO IMMACULATE AND COMPLETE. Even a tire rack with covered up tires. And all your cars fit? Very cool space.
Yeah I'm planning some trips from Dallas once the heat backs off. I drive to LA from Dallas several times a year but will go up through the midwest to vist my ancestors graves. Fact I noticed you had a banner from Miami which one of my ancestors was from Miami Ohio. Very prominent Ohio family called the Dye family. My great grandmother was from Ohio and my great grandfather served for the Union army out of Indiana Camp Morton. So I'm taking the JCW up through the midwest when the heat lets up.
BUT THANKS FOR THE PLASTI DIP TIP! AND SHOWING YOUR GARAGE!!! LOOKS AMAZING. How do you decide which car to drive so many? JCW gets the most use, right?

Yes the JCW is my daily driver and has almost 15K miles now. Lambo never sees rain. Just depends on weather, mood, and purpose I guess.
No problem on the Plasti dip. YouTube is your friend and how I learned to do it.
