GoMiniGo 3rd brake light Pulsar installation

Hi All!

Two quick questions...

1. How does one remove the 3rd brake light on a 2010 JCW? I'm told that the trim piece "snaps" out, but I don't want to force it for fear of breaking it. If so, how?

2. Does anyone know the legality of the GoMini 3rd brake light Pulsar in New Jersey?

Thanks!

/greg

Greg,

1. If you pull on the area just left of the light bulge on the center top section, it will bow just enough to unhook it from the left side. Don't jerk it too much. Go slow and easy and you should have no issues.

Remove the torx screw in your left round cord holder for your rear shelf on the hatch.

Grab that left piece of trim and swing the top towards you. Will pop out of the bottom area.

Strip back that gooey wire wrap they use.

Now you have everything exposed and are ready to splice the Pulsar into your wiring.

2. Yes, 50 state legal.

If you want to talk through it, send me a PM with your number and I will give you a call.

Alan

Got it and installed it. It is a tight fit - but I managed to squeeze it in and hold it in place with some black electrical tape.

Definitely like the effect.

I just installed two this morning -- one each in my and my better-half's MINIs. Took about an hour total time, with a little time spent soldering the supplied wire extensions to the factory connector. I found that the flasher unit fits inside the trim piece a little easier with the wires lengthened.

The flashers are working great. Can't wait to see if I'm tailgated less in traffic.

I installed mine a couple of months ago and the effect it has on people tailgating you is amazing. One of the best mods I've done over the years.

Both of my MINI's have one and getting one for the 99 Camaro too. Everybody should have one!
