My JCW grille looks different than all others

So the grille that came on my factory JCW is a bit odd...something I have yet to see on another MINI. I actually quite like it, but I'm curious as to why I have this grille and others don't.

Two things though:

I do not have the JCW body kit. My grille surrounds are black courtesy of plasti-dip

I have the factory aero kit. That being said, the other MINIs I've seen with the aero kit don't have this grille either.

Pics (sorry about the quality, I'm [bored] at work and don't have my camera):

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Well hot damn...I'm dumb.

Wonder why the other r56 MINIs w/ factory aero kits I've seen didn't have it - did they start at some date after '07?

dunno. maybe they painted the stock stuff??

basically if it has 'our' bumper it should have that grille...otherwise it'd be something custom i would think.

also cant be a 'justcooper'...dunno is this is even an american version:

The pic isn't an American version - it doesn't have the reflectors on the wheel arches.

The JACs don't have painted grilles either. There's a facelift coming - maybe this is it??? Painted grille and different air dam.

Don't feel bad. Somewhere in this forum there's a thread with me saying the exact same thing about the grill difference(s).

Hey that's my car (bbm). I plasti-dipped the trims in black. But I'm removing the plasti-dip to have it color matched the blue. Note I had the side wheel fenders already painted in blue. In fact I just removed my gas cap and the plasti-dip came off easily. I'm going to get the grill trim, headlight trim, rear tailight trim, side mirrors, and gas cap painted blue this week.

I had the plastidip black removed. Now almost all the chrome trims are painted laser blue to match the main body. This includes the head light trim, rear tail light trim, grill trim, and side mirror caps. Looks much cleaner. Will post pictures later.

Same grill on my 09 JCW

OK so it looks like they are all the same then. Mine is bound by chrome. So how do you get one of those huge Boss scoops in black and would mine look good like that with the Chrome? Thanks for the input!
