Mini JCW in Forza 3 demo 9/24/09. tomorrow!

for any gamer/jcw fans...

From: http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3176014

The demo will allow players to race five cars on the Camino Viejo track, and compare lap times with other players over an online leaderboard (but no direct multiplayer racing). The cars that will be available are as follows:
  • 2007 Porsche #80 Flying Lizard 911 GT3-RSR
  • 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro
  • 2009 Ferrari California
  • 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR
  • 2009 Mini John Cooper Works
This is awesome for me because I'm a gamer, I just ordered a 2010 jcw and I have to find something to keep me occupied while I endure the brutal waiting period. ahhh i can't wait!

That is awesome. I tried to make a GP out of an S in Forza 2. Went to go paint the mirrors red....and to my dismay you couldn't. Almost all the other cars you could paint the mirrors. Not the mini.

I will definitely buy this game and dl the demo tomorrow. What did your mini sticker at?

This will serve to be a huge disappointment I believe. They are going to put the JCW in the game as a 208HP at the crank car, when in actuality (see any stock dyno) the car puts out that much at the wheels.

You can thank MINI's marketing department for the JCW sucking worse than it should in Forza 3.

Agreed. It's like they decided to just use a generic turbo engine sound for the MINI. No character.

Yeah too bad the demo is "only available to XBOX Live Gold subscribers"...now I have to wait until end of october. Thought demos were supposed to be free, not require a $70/yr subscription

You really can't complain about that. It costs money to distribute the demo. It costs money to maintain the leaderboard functions within the demo. If you don't have a Gold account you haven't paid anything towards those costs. It gets so annoying to hear people complain about what they didn't get for free.

Also, do a quick google search and you can find a 12 month membership for around $40. That's $3.33 a month. If you can't afford that, then you probably shouldn't have a Mini... or a computer... or the internet connection that you posted with... or the xbox.

yeah I agree about the sound not being accurate to the real JCW, but the graphics have been much improved which is nice. Also the new interior camera view is interesting.
Although they could have done so much more to get it perfect i'm just happy that our car is in the game. I don't think any racing games have featured the JCW until now.

@ Nachsturm
the base price was close to 29,000 but with all the extra I've added it's going to be around 34,000. the JCW Aero kit is the extra that cost the most. I just love the look of the kit soo much tho!

in my opinion they really mangled the sound and that was the most dissapointing thing about it. its too buzzy in my opinion and the turbo whistle isnt the same. i know i know i dont have a JCW, but it doesnt sound anything close to our MINI's. that and if you look close the fuel gauge bars are too long and skinny and theres no black roof and mirrors as a color option!?! Yes. i am very picky.

for those of you who don't own an Xbox(and LIVE gold membership) here is a video of someone playing it.
