bodykit choices

I am tossed up between ac schnitzer bodykit and 18 inch ac schnitzer wheels with 225/35/18 or a jcw aerokit and spoiler with 18 bbs re wheels with 225/35/18.

what would do you think?

any other lowkey bodykits on the market?

I'd go with the AC Schnitzer.

I think it looks great in pepperwhite.

ac schnitzer wants 17,000 installed for the full kit inside and out with race suspension coilovers,18 inch mi2 wheels with 225,35,18 michelin pilot ,race export market downpipe back exhaust, rear sway, strutbrace ,shift knob, hand brake, pedals, footrest and floormats.

If i do the ac schnitzer kit what stripe should i get ,the cooper s or the stripe for the non s models.

if i do the jcw kit i may put a aftermarket stripe that looks like 70s 911 rs style.

I'm sorry, perhaps the European punctuation has me confused. If I understand you correctly, the AC Schnitzer kit is seventeen thousand... Euro? US Dollars?

A bloody lot of money in any case for what you get, if so. If I were to dump $17,000 into my car, it better be exponentially transformed into a Ferrari 275 GTB/4 or something...

OUCH! That's alot of $$$$ but then again I guess the old maxim of You get what you pay for, applies here.

Too rich for my blood but I do like the looks of the Schnitzer MINI.

But Gerarddm brings up an interesting point. How much better (faster) is this setup v. JCW?

For the cost (and lack of factory warranty) it better be significantly quicker/faster than the JCW!

yeah the ac schnitzer stuff aint cheap, but it is ok Obama sent me a check.

I look at it like this.

jcw body kit 1700 usd

ac schintzer kit 1500 usd

ac schnitzer stripe 450 usd

jcw suspension 1300 usd

ac schnitzer race coilovers 2800 usd

cross coilovers 2200 usd

bbs re wheels 3200 usd

ac shintzer mi2 wheels 2600 usd

not included in my total are jcw and ac schnitzer interior kits strutbars or exhaust.

ac schnitzer race pipe export market 2500 usd , i have a riss pipe on order( hey anthony whats up with my downpipe and exhaust order ?)

ac schnitzer strut tower brace 830 usd,car came with jcw strut brace.

ac schnitzer interior 2000 usd

jcw interior 1200 usd

i can have my shop do the install and save on cec's huge ferrari like labour rate, maybe a total of 400 usd including paintwork( i work at a dealership ).

jcw aerokit with and jcw suspension including bbs re with mich pilots
7400 usd plus paint and install

jcw aerokit with cross coilovers and bbs re and mich pilots
8300 usd plus paint and install

ac schnitzer with ac schnitzer race suspension coilovers(love the name even if the coilovers are bilstein with eibach springs) ac schnitzer 18 mi2 wheels with same mich pilots
8550 usd plus paint and install

Which way would you go?

The jcw with cross coilovers would be hardcore without warranty on suspension.

The jcw with jcw suspension would have warranty and be one of thousands with like spec.

ac schnitzer has a 3 warranty that matches mini ,would be less hardcore than jcw/cross and the most refined of the 3 and would not see a twin on every corner.

ac schnitzer offers only mods for non maf engine for non maf engines the ac schnitzer tune includes ecu ,intercooler pipes, airbox intake and downpipe produces 228 ps for 10500 usd (about what a rmw jan tune would produce with a intercooler and downpipe for a total of 2200 usd)

I think that you have already answered your own question as to which way you should go... If being unique, not "one of thousands with like spec", then the Schnitzer parts are the way to go!

Also you have managed to reduce costs by doing the work yourself (through your shop), so in your case, with your resources, I don't think that the factory warranty issue is significant enough to make you go the JCW route. Additionally, Schnitzer backs their equipment with a 3 yr. warranty.

Yeah this one is a no-brainer... Go the Schnitzer route!

I like the front and sides on the Duell, but the back needs a bit of reworking.

The only thing you neglect to remember is you listed MSRP prices on the JCW stuff. Though you probably can't find used Schnitzer parts, you sure could find JCW stuff for waaaaay less money than what you've got listed.

My .02 worth....

Ric,

That's probably carbon fiber.... thus the shine.

I think the factory JCW bodykit looks much better than any of the aftermarket ones. Just enough bling without looking overwrought.
