JCW Spoiler color advice

As I anxiously wait for my PW/B 2009 JCW to arrive Stateside I am beginning to get together the bolt on goodies I need. First on my list is a JCW roof spoiler. The dealership has a astro black JCW with the silver/carbon wing which I think looks pretty good but I am wondering whether to go for the black/carbon spoiler?? Just looking for some opinions or pics on which spoiler color combination will work best with PW/B

First off, congrats on your getting your JCW!

Now to the business at hand...

If you wish for the spoiler to stand out, then leave it as it is (silver/carbon wing) but if you wish the wing to be integrated with the roofline then your choice of black/carbon wing is the way to go.

My vote is for the black/carbon wing as I prefer a more unified look (looks like part of the car rather than a bolt-on addition).

Your call britboyinindy... Either way, it will look cool!

Enjoy & Motor On!

I think is depends... You didn't say what color you car is, and you didn't say what colors your wheels are. Since your side view of the spoiler is matched with the chrome finish of the trim pieces, unless you have silver wheels, I think the silver on the wing is a miss-match. I actually bought the wing and later returned it bacause the silver in the wing just didn't go with any color I had on the car. Now some may say that is vain... but at 34K for the car and $700 for the wing, I guess I want them to be color coordinated.

If you have silver wheels, either color will work. As well if you have a silver car same deal. But I have Chili red and black top. I also had black wheels at the time, so there wasn't any other silver on the car and the silver on the wing just didn't match with the chrom trim pieces alone.

Now I have silver R99 wheels so I think it might look good, but I decided to put my money toward a rear sway bar, control arms and coilovers instead.

Thanks for the advice. I did state the car is Pepper white with black roof.

I am going to swap out the wheels for my Prorace 1.2 on my gen 1 JCW in matt black so I am swayed toward the black/black spoiler.

I will be sure to post some pictures when the car arrives- only 6 weeks to go !!!

Well I pulled the trigger today on the Black/CF JCW spoiler from Morristown ($560 shipped), got a bit carried away on the vendor list and ordered Alta Intake, M7 strut brace, Vmaxx coilovers, Rear light and side reflectors blackout, PW sports stripes to contrast the black sports stripes I am getting with the car. Just found out my car is built and at the port waiting to board the ship. I look forward to showing you guys some before and after pics when my new baby finally gets here.

Cool... I did something similar. Just had the windows tinted and bought the H&R RSS coilovers, Alta 22mm sway bar, lower control arms and end links. It is all set to be installed in a couple days. Before and after pictures coming too.
