To stripe or not to stripe....that is the question.

No stripes vs sport stripes(white, silver or "phantom"(matte black).
My JCW during its first post dealership fill up.

depends on the look. If you want a classy elegant look leave as is. If you want a sporty aggressive look put the stripes. I left my car at the dealer today to have the viper stripes put on.
Is that Weston road in the back ground?

Hey Weston, that's a nice JCW

I'm getting a Midnight Black as well, and was thinking about either flat black, or "ghost" stripes on my car. Not sure if I'll get vinyl or have a local shop paint them on. I think the subtle sport stripes would look really sharp on it. Good luck on your decision

Thanks for all the responses. It's going to be a tough decision.
I've always wanted a MINI since i saw my uncle bringing home a brand new 1971 BRG/black top S back in the day.
My last 3 cars have been Audis (still a big fan)but the timing and this particular car were perfect.
I always visualized my MINI as having contrasting body/roof colors and stripes, but the all black/chrome combo won me over.

That is Weston road in the back, picture taken at the Exxon gas station(great car wash!).

ya know, i actually saw a mini at amviv this year that had chrome stripes. it looked good because they used other touches of chrome along the car as well.

I might be strange (just ask anybody) but I like it without stripes. Plus, keeping my stripes from looking super worn has been a REAL chore.

What are you doing to wear out your stripes ? Or don't I want to know ?

Besides, vinyl stripes are cheap. They look bad, you replace them.

Looks MUCH better with the stripes. Even though I had to turn my head sideways to look at them.

Strip it. Not sure why I think this, but is I see a Cooper from afar without stripes I assume it's not an S.

I have and AstroBlack Clubman with only silver pillars. I am doing Silver Viper strips on the Bonnet and back doors

I don't think I'd do that to my MINI but I'm glad you did it to yours.

Are those all vinyl or are they painted ?

why so serious? and thank you...i think. the way i see it is you either blend in with everyone else or stand out. I cant keep the cameras off the car (including the cops) but i think that just because its a RED...come on we all know RED is faster.

but to answer your question...it vinyl for now until it wears out then i will paint.
