I bit the bullet and broke them apart. I went back and forth for months about doing it. I think what pushed me over the edge was bordem and the car sitting in the garage for so long. I figured if I screwed them up I would have plenty of time to buy new ones before the snow melted. Then I had to do the JCW scuttles because they stuck out like a sore thumb.
