A/F looks like a sniffer test was done, pretty rich there! At least its always better to run rich than lean. How does it feel when comparing to the S? Does JCW have lots more potential in terms of low-end grunt and top-end?
yep, it was a sniffer. I expect it's actually running richer than it says since the exhaust went through two cats before reaching the sniffer. That just means there's room for more POWah! lol
Hopefully I'll have another tune or two done in the next couple weeks.

Got back last night from dyno'ing my JCW. Jan wasn't overly thrilled with the tune (he actually wants to play with it when time permits) but we ended up with 221.1 whp and just shy of 250wtq.
Last minute before I left, I decided to install a hard hotside downtube. It didn't fit correctly so I had to cut it and ended up using the bottom half of an exhaust depot hard tube and the upper half of an Alta tube.
Under hard boost, the two would come apart and upon the second time, we had to just take the car off the dyno because we were running into time issues.
Billy was great at the Auto lab shop, I'm not particularily fond of his dyno print outs. I guess I'm used to another style software, I find it hard to read.
I'm also not happy with the way the power/tq curves are... kind of wierd but Jan says all JCW's do that... I dunno. Anyway, here it is.

My dyno shows the same basic shape. I was wondering about mine too but I guess it is normal.
Did they graph your a/f?
I'd be interested in seeing it.
Yeah, I've checked out a few JCW sheets and they all appear the same. Jan says it's something about the bigger turbo and how it works with the ECM.
Yes, they did but I didn't get a copy. Jan is suppose to email it to me. Like I said, their dyno prints out the graphs wierd, the af is separate and it's hard to read their graphs in general.
My A/F is on the safe side. Like I said in another post, we had the results higher but Jan didn't want to keep it there for reliability.
I need help with the colour match on my jcw. My painter is spraying ppg code 850 pw but can not get the match perfect. What brand paint does mini use ?
Ya know, if you hadn't asked, I could have whipped it out but it escapes me at the moment.
Regardless, it shouldn't matter the brand. The painter should be mixing up "prime/standard".
Once "prime/standard" is mixed, they should spray a spray-out card and compare it to the paint on the vehicle.
If the color for instance has a red tone, then they should be seeing if their paint company has a variation "redder than prime".
Regardless whether they do or don't have a variance closer to the true color, they should be able to tint the paint.
I'm in Tampa right now, if the shop wouldn't pitch a fit, I'd be glad to come tint for them. I get calls from bodyshops all the time that need something tinted.
Some colors are worse than others. When I mixed up Laser Blue, I used a combination of Diamont, PPG and Glasurit just to make it match.
Not sure but hope that helps.
Mark

There is some value in the factory "prep work" [i.e. pistons, higher flow turbo, stronger cylinder head casting] along with the awesome looking Brembo brakes, eLSD, and nice looking stock wheels. If I was looking to build up an R56 for track work, the JCW would probably be my starting platform.
Don't forget the stronger gearbox...

if jan has a dyno lined up it will be at maitland importers(the place ian works at) downtown orlando, bring a gun and leave the rolex at home if it is at ians place
does that mean a base mini S with the JCW tune could make more than a stock JCW given that the mini S is underrated and so close to a JCW already??
as others said no, however, you can take a base S and with an intake, intercooler, and ECU tuning get more power than a stock JCW. Do the exact same mods to both and the JCW will have a bit more power.
