Factory gauges?

Now that the JCW is out, where are the factory gauge packs? They must be working on some.

Still no gauges? A performance machine without feedback? Just doesn't seem right.

Ya, I'm thinking about after-market. I'm botherd I don't have even water temp, but really also want oil pressure, oil temp, boost/vacuum.

I agree.
I'd like to see oil temp, water temp and boost pressure. i'll consider aftermarket but would pay a little extra if I could get a factory gauge pack installed.

I'm using a Scanguage II for now since it doesn't require any "damage" to install it. Waiting for a factory option.

Yeah, I've been using my SGII for stuff, but I've been craving a boost gauge, if nothing else because it looks cool.

There was a thread about getting a "sort of" boost display on a SGII but I don't think it worked on the 2nd gen cars.

Ah, that might explain why it wouldn't work for me.

Alta has a nice set up with gauges and a pod that matches the factory stuff. Problem is you can only add (2) gauges. Makes no sense to me why the proper gauges are not in the car from the factory. One of the first things I will do when I get my car is set up all the gauges. If anyone has some info on aftermarket pillar pods chime in.

Anyone have any update on this? I just picked up my JCW and this is the MAIN thing that bothers me, I'd like to do some HPDE events this coming spring, and couldn't bear not seeing at least water temp, oil pressure and oil temp. The Alta looks nice, but like Red bull stated you can only get two functions, It would be nice if they made "dual face/purpose gauges for one pod, at least

I am thinking of the scangauge II. Much easier and it has most of the functions you mentioned. The Alta stuff is just too much work for two functions.

True, I like the look of the Alta and am partial to analog gauges (especially while on the track). but until someone comes out with a complete gauge kit that looks like OEM (or is OEM, MINI are you listening ) I may have to use the scangauge II.

ya, pretty lame, "relative torque" 0-110% output instead of a regular boost gauge :P

the factory water temp gauge would be nice, but it seems pointless to get 1 factory gauge & still have to go aftermarket for the other side. I can only imagine how much Mini wants for them as well, consider the pricing for their 'branded' Garmin Nuvi 360

Here is a thread that might be of interest to this group. I am working with Marshall gauges on creating new faces to match the OEM gauges. Take a look.

I'm waiting for the Marshall gauges too. I'm planning to install them into Craven pods. Those are pretty nice, if a litte expen$ive. Still cheaper than anything you'd get from the factory though.

I'm astonished that the car doesn't come from the factory with a full complement of gauges, or at least as an option. Who ever heard of a hot rod without gauges? Lame.

Someone needs to replace the middle tach gauge completely with something more informative.
