What is your average speed over a week?

I can not believe mine. No wonder I only get 20 mpg!

23 KPH or 14 MPH That's city driving for you!

You would be better off on a bicycle, save gas money as well as insurance!

46 as per pic.but i only reset it yesterday when i filled up and it usually ends up at 30 ish. But you bring up a great point when others speak of great mileage. Those mileage claims need to be supported with reset average mph as that would make any comparison apples to apples. I have r58 but same rule applies.

Depends entirely on the week and the stage of life and size of town/city, doesn't it? One week of morning coffee with a bunch of other old geezers then out to the golf course in the afternoon, abt. 35 mph average. A brain fart inspired road trip and it goes up. Back in the pre MINI days it was work - period- to and from and who paid attention when gas was .28¢.
On a long road trip it is fun to set everything to zero then check the numbers upon return but keeping track while just running around town seems like too much fuss and feathers. Interesting question though, be fun to see other responses.

What I really find shocking is how often I have to fill up the tank in the New York style stop start driving. The small tank in the f56 is a serious pain compared to the R56 or my wife's Audi Q5 for that matter. I honestly am a lead foot too...that does not help...but I have a constant smile on my face!

Hear ya. I hate the small tank. My 2012 Cooper could go over 500 miles on a tank, easily.

I commute about 20-25 minutes each way most days, add in the other trips and
about 30 mph while driving ... figures out to about 1.5 mph average over the typical day.

If I didn't have to sleep or work, I could probably improve that quite a bit.

I mainly drive during rush hour (no highway, only 6km away from my home). Sadly, my average speed is only 21.9km/hour.

I just took a drive to my girlfriends home for a few days. Interstate most of the way. I left with a full tank and drove around speed limit +5 and had no problems. This was from the relatively flat terrain of south central VA 260 miles to the mountains around Asheville, NC. I drove a combination of sport and mid modes. On this leg of the trip I averaged 36.6mpg and 69MPH. On the return leg I will use the green mode exclusively and see what a difference it makes.

Made me look. Our road trip last June, 6472 miles all back roads lots of mountain ranges, averaged 30.5 MPG and 50.4 MPH for the whole trip. Only that was 4 weeks.

3680 mile road trip from Dauphin island, AL through Indiana to York, ME then down to Spartanburg, SC then back home. Average speed: 55mph and mpg of 33.5. A lot of interstate, then any mountain or hilly curvy roads I could use as an alternate. A lot of local driving once at each destination.

You may share my father's outrage by shouting his favorite phrase at appropriate times: "Why the he!! does everybody have to be in the same (expletive of your choice)place at the same (ibid) time!!! It never helped the situation but he always claimed it made him feel better.

I'd try that, but the answer is that everyone here doesn't have to be at the same place at the same time, because somehow the rush "hour" lasts from before 7:00am to after 9:00am around here and I don't even get the worst of it (Virginia's side is worse than Maryland's). I don't even go anywhere near the District. I commute from Montgomery Village to Rockville on the west side of I-270, which isn't that far of a drive, but there's just so many damn stoplights. I think it's 20 stoplights over 13 miles. It's almost worse than pure city driving, because they're just far enough apart that you're expected to get up to speed (45 - 55 mph) before stopping at the next light. If you don't or you coast to the stoplight, people get royally pissed and there's legitimate cause to fear for your life.

I too in my youth had the habit of frequently "voicing" my opinion about those who reduced my average groundspeed or attempted to occupy my airspace until my charming bride often reminded me that they could not hear me-----but she could. I am now programmed to only snarl my opinion and at an undecipherable decibel level while she is onboard. However when I'm single pilot that long subdued habit, sans jestures, has a propensity to return and that "makes me feel better."

I always get a kick out of the morons that just have to be the first one to the stop light. I'm gonna bet that if those 20 lights within that 13 mile section are not camera controlled, then they are timed and if the crowd figured that out they could drive straight thru without touching their brakes. There's a little town near hear just so. If you glide thru the 5 lights at 10 MPH you're at the other end of the main drag on time. Try it faster and you look like an idiot to all the natives.

Spoken like a wise man. Testosterone does not always win the race....in fact it seldom does.

There is one light that I make a left turn at and I always have to wait for several seconds after it turns green. It is one of the only lights in this county that doesn't have a camera and people run it like crazy, then block the intersection. It's also not too far from a rescue squad, so I've seen fire trucks and ambulances blocked there because of those morons. I'm often first in line at stop lights because I don't run reds and everyone else does.

My granddad used to time the lights for miles in Charleston, WV and would just cruise right along. Unfortunately, the lights around here are all controlled by sensors. They'll go through the same cycle every time, but if there's no cars in a certain position, they'll go from red to green to yellow to red in as little as 3 seconds.

average speed for the ~12k miles my car has seen is up to 28mph.

my commute is 13 miles but could actually be 11 since I take the longer, more free flowing way. Mostly on a highway with a 55mph limit, then some 4 lane and residential streets with traffic lights.

sometimes weekends are all city driving and other times we go on trips, so it's pretty well mixed. I'd say I usually get 30mpg.
