Data point for the discussion: on Friday I bought an F55 off the lot and paid 12% under MSRP. HOWEVER, it was a 2015 that by my estimate had been sitting on their lot for over a year, so they were really motivated to get rid of it (its interest payments, really). $500 of the deal was MINI owner loyalty from BMWNA, but the rest was all the dealer.

I believe I got a fantastic deal.

As for why the car sat for a year… the dealer ordered it with an unusual combination of options that turned out to be unattractive to most buyers, most notably the JCW exterior aero bits that drove up the price without offering significant benefit. Worked out great for me though :-)

That's a great deal. My car sat on the Mini North Scottsdale lot for about 8 months before I bought it in 2014. I think that was because it is an expensive JCW Coupe. The Coupe was not a big seller because it only has 2 seats, and the JCW costs about $7k more, and it had Recaro seats which are another $2,700. So you're probably right, cars with unusual option packages may not sell fast hence bigger discounts. I only got about $2,500 off mine though.

I got 15.6% off of MSRP but it was supposed to be little over 14% until Mini gave me an extra $500 since no docking kit when it was supposed to. I think it is rare but I think 12% is doable with a good dealer and solid promotions. With no promotions it is a good deal.

Usaa discounts on certified mini dealer

I received $1000 off the price of the car, and $500 cash applied to the purchase for using a usaa certified mini dealer.

So I added the brown leather seats I really wanted 😂.

Love my new racing green 2016 F57

So I ordered my car in May and it should be arriving in the next 2 weeks. Id agreed with the dealer for 1,800$ off my 24,500$ build price. 500$ is a usaa credit I get as a member and then 1,000$ was the dealer honoring the test drive deal mini was doing back then. Even though I'd have to have taken delivery in May to count the full 1,000$. But dealer said they'd honor it. Then they agreed to take another 300$ off.

I was just looking at the mini website and if you do mini financing you get 500$ customer cash. I spoke with my sales guy just now about the 500$ customer cash and he said that was included in the amount they were giving me off Msrp. That doesn't sound right to me as that offer didn't exist at the time I ordered if I remember correctly. Wondering if I should push to get that 500$ Customer cash as I plan to use mini financing as they have the best rate I can find at 1.9% (possibly down to 0.9%)?

I hate negotiating!

Can't hurt to ask. $1800 off is already pretty good compared to many others, you can hold your head high.

I also just got my first mini

British Racing Green
Mini Cooper S 3 Door Hard Top with Sport Package, Premium Package, Media Package and 18" wheels

I ended up trading my 2 years old Mustang and paying a huge amount to cover the difference of what they offered me for my car and what I still had to pay.

I lost money but oh man I love the mini! I won't ever again get any other car! this is the best money I have spent on a car!

Love it !
