2015 MCS back from The Custom Shop in Astoria (NY)

Following on from my earlier thread (https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...w-kit-nyc.html)

Just got the car back today and really happy with the small changes I made - still not sure whether to lower it (might do that in the Spring)

3M 50% tint, spacers, color coded all the chrome (chili red at the front). Chrome belt line, petrol cap and door handles wrapped in 3M gloss black

Hope you like

It looks awesome. What brand spacers did you use, and what sizes?

Thanks - H&R 12mm at the front and H&R 15mm at the rear (also bought longer bolts). I bought them through Sandtler in Germany and then had them shipped to the UK and then onto the US as I couldn't find any in black in the US

Much better! Love that you did the Chili Red on the front. The wrap on my grill surround is coming off a little bit so when I finally take it back to get re-wrapped, I'm thinking of having them do my door handles since they're still chrome.

Looking nice!

Thanks - on mine I bought extra light bezels, grill surround and grill strip (comes as part of the entire grill) and then had them sprayed midnight black. More expensive than wrapping but hopefully a little less troublesome (plus I'll put my originals back on when the lease is up). They did a great job on the handles - hopefully the wrap is hard wearing!

Nice job, seems to be screaming for RED brake calipers, then it's perfect, IMHO😃😍

She's purty! Can you provide more details on the spacers? What is the final offset front and rear? And are they specific to the f56? Part numbers? Thanks!

Wheel spacer system DR 30 (3055664) black anodized 3055664B
Wheel spacer system DR 24 (2455664) black anodized 2455664B

Both are for BMW and the F56

Not sure on the final offset - my wheels are the same offset as all the other F56 wheels. Hope the links help.

Just remember the spacers do not come with longer bolts - you will need to buy these

do you have the exact specs on the bolts you bought or a link? I've seen conflicting info and seems you are one of the few who've actually done this so far

I think that's enough for week 1 !!. Might drive for a bit/move out of the city and then put Eibach springs on it (bought from Sandtler with the spacers). Apart from that I'll think about an exhaust (they all seem to be $$$$) and then I've seen a rear diffuser in an Austrian JCW catalog that I think could look great.

The car is leased so don't want to do too much and I try and make everything reversible...

I bought the grill (the part with the S on it) and that comes complete with the chrome strip. I then sent it to the custom shop who separated the chrome strip and then sent it off to be painted. It seems in the end they were able to change the chrome around the whole grill and this strip without taking the front of the car off. Hope that info helps - happy to answer any other questions. Have to thank this and the F56 forum in the UK and Germany for all the inspiration!

j5ktt, car looks great!

Do you have any pics of the rear (straight-on) after the spacers? With the tires sitting further out, do you feel like you might need mud guards/flaps now?

Apologies for the poor photos, it's freezing in NYC and the car is in the dark - hopefully this helps. Not sure about mud guards - I might add the JCW pro front aero and rear diffuser when they are finally released

Thanks - I think they fill the arches (width-wise) pretty well without being too much

Yeah definitely lower it Even just the H&R springs would make it look way better, esp with the wheel spacers. Black trim looks nice, was the front trim painted or vinyl wrapped? I have a guy who says he can vinyl wrap all the chrome on the grill for me and im really considering it.

For the front (grill and light surrounds) I bought new parts from Sewell and then had them repainted locally - so then when my lease ends I can just refit my original chrome items to return it to stock

How did you swap the grill trim? Did you have to remove the bumper or is it possible to just pull the trim off?

According to the guys that installed it I think they were able to get it done without removing the front bumper
