Car's behaviour without Driving Modes

In my Mini configurator is possible to choose a Cooper without Driving Modes (only available in Chili package). How will be the behaviour of a Cooper without Driving Mode selector on it? Like in Mid Mode?

If it's like in sport mode, it will be ok. But maybe, without Driving Modes, it lose some extra performance (or steering weight), which provides the sport mode.

I think the jury is still out on this. I personally don't believe there is any increase in performance between modes. They stereo sound box makes it sound louder and the pedal response is stronger or less but is the engine producing more HP or less? I personally doubt it. in my standard transmission the steering weight is the same unless I pick "chassis" in one of the sub menus. Other have stated that their steering sharpens in engine mode. I have DDC though so mine may well be different.

The fuel consumption is affected, so in mid and green modes should affect to the engine, the pedal or something.

Less is more, better.

Since you mention Chili package, I guess you're in the UK.

All F56 MINI in the US come with driving modes as standard equipment, so it's unlikely that anybody on this forum has any experience in a Cooper without driving modes. I think would be a good assumption that it is permanently at mid-mode.

It appears to me that in the UK the driving modes can be selected as optional equipment and are available as no-cost options on the Chili and JCW Interior packs.

from the configurator:

MINI Driving Modes
£ 135
Or save with combination

With John Cooper Works Interior £ 0
With Chili £ 0

The mid-mode is default on engine startup if you order it.

Greg, there definitely is a difference in performance between the three modes. Accelerate from start (WOT) in Green and Sport. Huge difference. Green feels like you're way down on power. I have to believe power/torque output is adjusted with the tune in each mode. No other way to explain the sluggish Green mode to the blasting Sport mode.

I notice significant difference among the modes
I prefer mid for daily suburb.
