F54: Clubman Spacers

Anyone have any experience? Not a fan of the OEM 17" Black Net Spoke on my Clubman. Thinking I might like them a bit more if they weren't so tucked.

This is a second car that doesn't significant mileage, not really interested in opinions re: the merits/risks/etc. of spacers.

P.S. Moderators- any chance the F54 will see its own forum/sub?

No info on spacers? Right to assume they're the same as the 4d F56 or perhaps X1?

Spoke with the kind folks at ECS and we've determined that the F55 spacers should work fine on the F54. I have a set of 12.5mm on their way. I'll report back this weekend when they're mounted with my new 18".

Here's the full list of available depths.

Sorry was out of the office and just saw this, yep they will work, they share the same wheel bearing. Post up some pics. F54 Should be added to the drop down very soon.

Installed the new 18" wheels and tires as well as 12.5mm ECS spacers.

Spacers are well made, lightweight and have a neat lip that'll make prying them off considerably easier. So far so good.

Having turned my own winter sets for years, I have wheel swapping down to a science; torque wrench, impact driver w/ torque limiting socket (caps torque at 75ft/lbs), breaker bar (to loosen), and (not pictured) BMS jack-pad adapter for BMW/Mini (slots into the OE jacking point).

Big fan of the optional 18"s- effective offset with the spacer is 44.5mm, or 0.5mm smaller than the BBS wheels I had been considering. Had Continental DWS06 tires mounted. Much prefer non-RFTs and the DWS06 offers superior (for an all-season) snow (not ice) traction.

Awesome. Nice flush fit with the 18". Think you are one of the first on the F54 w/ wheel spacers. Well done. If you have an Instagram account post up ad we can tag you.

That garage is super clean and nice. Well done on that also.

I'm running the DWS06 tires on my wife's Clubman, too. I wouldn't have junked the summer tires so quickly, but she must have hit a pothole and the sidewall bubbled. The replacement was $350, so I solved my winter tire dilemma by going with a new set of all seasons for $600. If anyone needs 3 of the Bridgestone S001s, I will let them go cheap.

Love the DWS', if you decide to go back the RFT route (if it's a lease, for instance), check on my FS thread. $1000 OBO on the OE 17" take-off set.

Would be a STEAL for anyone looking to run a winter set (just add tires) and snag a set of take-off OE RFTs for (essentially) free.

I have 12mm spacers on my F54. They are Macht Schnell brand that I bought/installed at my local shop.

12mm is the right size. 15mm on the front will be a little too wide imo. I am lowered on AST springs with 18" OEM wheels.

Interesting. im at stock height so i think the extra 3mm with 15s all around would be fine. Thanks!

Yep, should be fins. The guy above did our 12.5mm spacers on 18's, when you lower the car you can tell more with spacers. Thats why most people lower first then measure.

Yep,

The video way is the easiest to check based on the suspension. I have seen 12.5mm to 15mm being good. With oem wheels. You might have a slight poke on 15mm. 3.5mm is a small difference that most people can't see unless you are slammed to the ground or on air.

I have 15mm H&R spacers all around. dropped on KWV3. no rubbing issues under normal driving. all 4 corners are flush with the fenders and no poke.

15mm only works with the oem 18" though, I think any aftermarket wheels with less offset will poke out.

good to know. I’m actually using the same jcw wheels you have so I’m super convinced now.

hi guys. Got my 15s put on this morning all around. Big thanks for ex’s for their input, fast shipping and their YouTube channel that helped me install them properly.

Hopefully my jcw wheels will be ready this week and I’ll have those mounted. They’ll have the same offset but will be .5 an inch wider all around.

And they are going to be color coded to match your roof, they are wider and a more sporty, aggressive design. It’s going to look great Joey, stoked for you. Getting new shoes is always the best.

BC plates? Didn't realize you were a local guy. Once COVID is done we have to join the local VancouverMiniCooperClub car meets.
