Anyone have any prior experience with this website/company. their deals are pretty nice and theyll knock off more if you chat/call them (set of Tenzo Type m 18x8 in charcoal for SUB 900).

Just dont want to get scammed... its kinda funny cuz you specify lugbolt pattern via comment before checkout.

anyone know a reputable website that carries tenzo type m that price matches?

OK. Well even before I took delivery of my '09 Clubman S six months ago I read many times how chucking the stock runflats (195/55/16) and getting some higher performance non-rof's was a night&day change that I should seriously look into. Well I must admit not only are my tires making more noise than ever Im noticing much less traction (squealing, slipping etc) through turns than when they were new. So, yes Im gonna chuck the basturds!

But now a couple days and a few hours of reading many many posts in this forum my head is spinnin. I could start by saying that I'll be driving in a cold , freezing temps but not much snow at all, etc etc but I figure I want to understand it more fully. It seems that not only do I have a lot of choices but I guess I dont even have to go with the same size tire! Man, I got a lot to learn it appears. So, with that said Im hoping someone can point me to some good info on tires and tire selection. I was hoping there was possibly a newbie guide out there to help school me?

While I dont mind at all, perusing through a lot of posts, hearing others opinions etc, its making coherant sense out of it all thats the problem so... Im hoping some of you out there can point me to some good newbie info. Thanks in advance!

I was wondering if these would be a good setup... i am not looking for stretch/poke, just a more aggressive look and possibly performance gains?

I have an r56 s and am considering team dynamic pro race 1.2 18x8 et 45, with 225/35/18 tires.

1. I am pretty sure they will not rub on stock suspension. Also, if i were to drop in the future, it would be ok i presume?

2. i figured thicker rubber = more grip but somewhere in this forum, someone stated it will cause more understeer? is that...

So I have to admit, I have never ever ever switched tires on cars, let alone the wheel....so I basically have NO idea what to do when getting a new set.

I have an '08 MCS currently with the 16" S-Winders and runflats (Goodyear, it says 195/55R16 I think?). I don't have any clue about what tires or wheels I could get. Or even how to go about getting them ON my car (buy them online and have a tire store put them on...?)

So I'm asking the nice people of NAM for some advice on what to do. I have browsed the tires, wheels, brakes forum and have pretty much just been blinded by numbers...I do know from the sticky up top that I shouldn't be worried about the TPMS to go haywire when I switch, right?

These are the things I'm looking for:
-NON-runflats
-probably another 16" tire
-no need for any special snow tires or anything (I'm in San Diego...jeebus)
-black wheels
-good ride quality as well as a good gas mileage tire (=lighter wheel?)
-no need for autoX or anything, I just basically drive to and from work....

(oh also, do I do brake pads at the point that I get new tires and wheels? I'm almost due for my big first service...is that included with that? I've heard great things about the ceramic brakes...should I just opt for those?)

So, that being said, I apologize for my lack of knowledge on the subject, all I know is I don't want my runflats anymore and I'm looking for a sweet black wheel that's not too $$ (the Konig feathers?).

TY:thumbsup: - Alana

p.s. how long should these run flats last? I have a couple tires that look like the tread is getting real low and I only have about 16k on the car right now.... runflats wear quicker than non, I'm guessing?

Alright, time to replace the stock tires on my 09 MCS. No more of this run-flat nonsense. Here is the criteria:

- I live in N. California, where I'll drive in a bit of rain during the winter months but NO snow. Most of time it's sunny

- Performance, tread life, and versatility are all important and I'm after the best combination of all 3. Performance definitely out-weighs everything.

- I plan to stock with the stock rims. So just a tire replacement is all I'm looking at.

Hi there,

I am trying to find 15" steel wheels for my 2009 Clubman for the winter. I talked with Alex from Tirerack and he cannot help me.

I was in Costco Canada this weekend and asked about wheels and they could order 15" steel wheels for me but their catalog only listed the Cooper. They were $41 each.

Does anyone know if these will fit my Clubman? I currently have 17" alloys but want the 15" steels for the winter.

Thanks,

If I order this setup online can they be put directly on the car without and additional servicing? If not, what else is necessary?

With that said if my next brake job goes like it just did I will burn my mini to the ground and collect the insurance for it.

The Torx bolts that hold on the rotor are a major pain. ABle to get 3 out and replaced , one snapped off so I let that rotor fly. What did I use to motivate these bolts? PB Blaster, A Snap On impact driver, a oxyacetylene torch. Still I had one snap. SO I get down to the last wheel which the Torx just glides off (passenger rear), great I think. My Last wheel will go easy. Easy about 2 hours worth. Harbor freight tool shits the bed and lodges itself in the caliper. (split pin broke) THe caliper expanded so I couldn't get the tool off. SO with some swearing and some prying and vice grips to turn the now freed puck I get the caliper closed. DId I mention the sun is going down rapidly? I'm outside? and my father is asking me questions like:"How much is a new caliper?" At 4:30PM on a sunday it the most irrelevant question ever,:impatient::mad::impatient::eek2:

Finally got the pieces all back together and the brake light is now out!!!!

SO now all I have to do is by some tranquilizers and BP medication.

I would like to force the engineers that designed this mess to be forced to work on them for at least a year before they get near a CAD program in the future.

The low-brake warning just came on on my wife's '08 Clubman. An independent shop that works on MINIs verified it needs front pads and rotors. Most of the miles were highway, and although we do live in hilly country, she got at least 40k on her last two car's front brakes (Audi TT and Toyota Celica GT). All her cars have been manual trans, BTW. Isn't this a bit premature? I understand from other threads that this SHOULD be covered under warrantee, which was suggested by the shop that checked it...

I understand from other threads that this SHOULD be covered under warrantee, which was suggested by the shop that checked it out. Can anyone confirm this?
BTW, is there anything like a repair manual for this thing? I've always done my own work, but this car is baffling!
I came across Nokian's "All Season Plus" tires recently, and I like the concept: But the big question is how much snow grip would I be trading for dry grip versus a traditional performance-snow tire like my old Wintersports?
