Hi all. I just bought my 2010 MCS last night from Bob Smith MINI, and I had a great experience. I ordered it on 10/2, because I HAD to have the LSD. I'm a bit obsessive that way. Anyway, Lauren Wilson was my MA, and she was great. She was never pushy, was always there to answer questions, and very proactive. I'm a bit obsessive that way. Anyway, Lauren Wilson was my MA, and she was great. She was never pushy, was always there to answer questions, and very proactive. I work with sales people all the time in my job, and they tend to drive me batty. Considering that Lauren didn't even come close to making me nuts, that is high praise. We were in and out in 2 hours, including time to handle my trade-ins. I am a happy motorer (is that even a word?). I am going back in on the 30th to have my roof graphic and mud flaps installed, so I will let everyone know how things go on the service side, but so far so good.

Thanks to Lauren, Maria, Molly, and crew at Bob Smith for making my first MINI purchase a good experience.

Hey everyone :)
I just joined NAM and will probably join the Alliance in 2010.
I'm 17 so I'll be here forever. I love my Mini and it's license plate is RC CAR in CT. Any other mini owners from around the area let me know. Many mods are planned for the future but my 2005 MCS CR/B is stock for now. First mod will definitely be the Valentine 1 radar detector.

Hi Everyone!

I just ordered my idea of the "PERFECT" Mini last week. I knew she had to be white and went with the Mayfair package. Is there anyone out there with this combo? Ever seen it? How about in Black? Just curious if I was the only one. Searching dealer inventories I see many in Hot Chocolate but not the other color options.

Now the wait.....she is to be finished 11/20/09. I want her on the boat and here for Christmas....hope that is possible.

Well the Mod bug bit me and I just completed Rita's first two mods. I installed a DDM Works Street cold air intake and replaced the stock restricted charge tube with an M-7 unrestricted one. The CAI install took about 20 minutes start to finish very easy no problems. The Charge pipe swap took a little longer due to the bolt that holds the muffler in place. If anyone is thinking of doing this mod let me give you some info that I did not have. The bolt is a T-25 Torx head you have to reach your hand up and unbolt it by feel. once that bolt is out the rest of the install takes 10 minutes tops.

These two mods made a world of difference not to mention you can really hear the turbo spool and the relief valve during shifting.

This is my first post so I wanted to share my mod story and say hello!

Hey everyone. I was referred here after making a thread in The Car Lounge. My name is Bryan and I live in Southern Indiana. My current cars are a stage 2 '06 VW GTI, Stage 3 G60 VW Rabbit convertible, and a beater truck (85 F250 king cab long bed). I just recently got rid of my 73 coupe deville

My preferred tuner shop is selling a RHD '61 Austin Mini 4 door with an 1100cc engine. It has been sitting, but started in the past couple years. It is a complete car with the only issues (other than wear and tear on a near 50 year old car) is that all of the shocks are blown. I have not seen the car or the pictures yet.

I would like to know if there is anything in particular to be wary of on this. Also, with it being a RHD car, does anyone know what is required to get it on the road legally in Indiana? The price is $1100. What kind of shape do you think it should be in to be a good deal for me?

Just for fun, here is a pic of my GTI with my Coupe Deville
I love driving this car, it handles well and it has good pickup, even in non-sport mode. Gas mileage seems to be OK as well (31mpg), although I have not driven it that much yet.

Hi all. I just got a 2003 MINI Cooper S a couple weeks ago, with only 36000 miles on the odometer, British Racing green paintwork, manual trans, and moonroof. I've wanted one since they first showed up here in the US, and finally, I got one.

So far, I've read all 68 pages of the "things you probably didn't know about your mini" thread. Great stuff there! I look forward to finding out all the helpful maintenance tricks and useful mods.

Thanks!

C ya,
