First 30 seconds the reviewer states first BMW with front wheel drive and based on the MINI chassis.

I thought it was known that the Countryman chassis was going to be used in a BMW too. That's what this BMW 2 Tourer appears to be.

I'd take the MINI version, more character.

 

Yes, it was known they would eventually share common platforms and engines. I'm surprised the BMW version has preceeded the Fxx MINI version. The devil is in the details but this doesn't seem to leave much room for an improved Countryman.

 

Apparently there is an extended seven-seat version being driven around in camouflage.
