hi my name is chris and i have 2002 mini cooper type s looking for some adventurous mini owners to roll with cuz every friday saturday at about 10pm i head out to me and my buddies litlle meet spot which is albertsons on division and river road occasionally we go out racing or just crusing on an old country road i would love to have some other mini to drive around with please contact me if your interest just joined the Emerald MINI Car Club in eugene but i know most people that have minis are well over my age and have no interest in speeding or cruising but if you do please get ahold of me my name is chris
I think you'll find all types of folks of all interests and ages young and old driving MINIs. The cool part is that even though some of us may be a little older, the MINI brings back our youth. I enjoy a spirited drive myself on the empty twisties. What I've found, though, is that there is absolutely nothing I've done on the street that compares to the fun I have on a track day at PIR. I'm amazed at how much more of the car's capabilities can be explored on the track. It's quite exhilarating. Maybe not as exciting as the motorcycle road racing schools I attended, but the extra two wheels make me more comfortable when they're all squealing in a high speed drift. Check it out if you get a chance.
I'll be up at Alta Mini Performance tomorrow with PDXMINI. It will be a great opportunity to learn some tech/mod stuff, wrench and hang out. There's a thread with details in PDXMINI if you are interested.
