X-Band Need your opinion

The V1 radar detector can be programmed, one program allows for the disabling of Xband... since a lot of Xband is the cause of many of the fals alarm....so should I disble it?

I know in Houston a lot of police do not use Xband... what about your areas? What is you opion, should I disable it?

Read up and check and see if any cops use X band. I live in Virginia and there is no longer any X band. Only bad thing is that I make trips to North Carolina only 10 miles away and they use it.. Just read up on what bands are used in the area you usual travel in..

personally, i would keep it on.. better to be safe than sorry. i got clocked with x-band and got a $141 speeding ticket. i would hate it if i got pulled over right after getting a V1. thats about $250 down the drain, not to mention the ticket.

thats my 2/100

Option 1 - keep it in hwy mode to decrease sensitivity.
Option 2 - Get a Passport 8500 ( ;-) . It's "expert meter" display will show you the frequency of the X/K or Ka-Band signal being detected. Do a a little research on google to find the most prevalent police radar/ X-band frequencies and you're good to go - OR - simply call your local and/or State police and ask....if they don't want to tell you you can probably find the information on the web and/or file a FOI request.
The basic frequency ranges are as follows:
Х-range (10.525 GHz +25 MHz),
К-range (24.15 GHz + 100 MHz),
Ка-range (33.4 GHz - 36.0 GHz),
