new frm installed and i now cant code fog lights as drl! r61 r60 ncs expert

Hi all

Dealer replaced FRM3 under warranty and installed 61359813879 Footwell module 3 AHL From:07/01/2015 into my 2013 MINI Paceman.

They are trying to fix the turn signal intermittently staying on past 3 blinks. Anyways, before this new FRM module, I was able to have fog lights on all the time and use them as my DRLs. Now I cannot program that using the exact same codes as before. My guess is the new FRM module is to blame or it was not coded properly to my car. Otherwise, I do know that MINI added LED DRL foglights with halos to the newer Paceman/Countryman - do you think that would cause the change here? Is the new FRM expecting new wires into it to control newer than what I have LED foglights?

I copied the trace file before it went into and after it went into service and compared the two for the changes. There are overall 10 lines missing from the new FRM.

i have attached original frm trace with changes and new frm without any changes. i compared them on diffchecker.com for ease.

Can you not just program your original file to the new FRM?

I don't know if that's smart as when I default my coding back to what the vo gives I have the same trace file again as the new one. So the car is expecting that coding and in that order.

When I do the same code changes as prior, the fog lights are basically disabled.

You can't do a thing with the new FRM without a J2534 pass-through device, many of the new modules are going that route and the quick and easy world of just plugging your OBDII tool in and recoding the modules are over.

If the dealer got the wrong options loaded to the FRM prior to install then you may need them to reactivate options, or find an indy shop with a tool that can turn functions on and off.

These are the trace files right? I'll look them up on my computer tonight and see how the options are laid out.

I looked up both files. I noticed that the new FRM has a newer file C.37 while the other one was C.35.
Both files had the day light running fog lights option disabled!!!

I attached a trace file that will enable the fog lights. change the extension to .MAN and load it to your FRM.

Also i will attach pictures of the option for both files.

Yeah sorry I had fog light drl off the last one because I had them enabled as standing lights (alway on)

If I do fog lights on as drl or as standing lights or soft on with welcome lights, they don't work.

Sorry I don't think you know what we're talking about? We are talking about coding the Frm module and my original question is about the newer frm is not allowing fog lights as drls

Try coding it the way you want then turn iff the car for 15 seconds. Then turn on the car and see the results.

I once tried one touch open the sun roof. After coding the module it didnt work. So for whatever reason i decided to leave it for 15 seconds and it worked.

Lemme know

will do and will post the trace file that i use.

It is interesting though how when I use the fogs as standing lights which worked on the prior FRM right way, it disables the switch (as it should) on the new FRM but doesnt turn on the lights

Thanks to rudeman422 in the r60 coding thread i found this:

SL_FKT_MIT_NSW
aktiv

WL_NSW
soft_einschalten

PWM_NSW_FKT_PARKL
wert_02

but with halogen fogs, they are on but really dim.

wonder if this would work with the OEM led fogs now instead?
