window problem

I have a 2009 mini S with a drivers window problem. I took it to the dealer in June 2014 because the window would go to the top and then pop right back down. They re-programmed it for $140 and it has worked fine until last week. The window would not drop 1/2 inch when you opened the door and then go back up when closed. I thought as the battery was original, that might be the problem, as they had hinted at that last time, so I replaced it with a new one, no help. I went to the dealer yesterday to again re-program the window. They said the battery had to be one of theirs, a battery that could communicate with the car's computer and the computer with it. I have never heard of a battery that could communicate. They tested the battery I had put in and they said it had gone from the original 690cc amps to 300cc amps because the car did not recognize the battery and therefore drew an excessive amount amps when starting and would not want to charge it. The main computer in the car had to be reprogrammed. They suggested that if I do not use the car for more than 2 weeks, I hook up a trickle charger or the window would act up again. After a 4-1/2 hour wait and a $643.27 charge, my window works again. have I just been royally shafted?

yes you sure have...for whatever reason, your window keeps wanting to re-initiate to make sure that it is not damaging the motor. So, if the window goes up and down, then you can maybe try to roll the window down and hold it for 15 sec and then up and hold for 15 sec. the switching should be one motion, do not let go of the switch and dont stop in the middle. once done, try opening the door and see if that helps. make sure you do that while the door is initially closed
