There is a single line in NCS Expert you have to switch to active and the high beams should work. Unfortunately I'm traveling this weekend and don't have access to my coding laptop. I will dive into it early next week and see if I can find out which option it was for you.
Just want to give you guys a heads up. We now have halogen => projector LED DRL headlights from spyder. These are in the F60 design for your R60/ R61. They are just like the halogen spyder ones fro the R56-R59 but these are for the R60 Countryman / R61Paceman. No Xenon to Xenon version yet.
But these take halogen H9 bulbs ( or if you want to do your own xenon/ led retrofit H9) Bi-halogen. This means they have 1 bulbs that has a flap like the Xenon factory system and when you use the highs, the flap moves up.
Bottom turn signal is standard P21 bulbs and this system is plug and play.

Why would you want to put a halogen bulb in a projector? Having retrofitted before, that would be like starting a fire with $100.00. There is no point other than wanting to have your lights look as if they are HID. Am I missing something here?
Also, Is the price on the ECS site of 1500+ for the OEM 25W retros correct? It seems there has been significant inflation. I found them for 1100 on WMW and that was just a cursory search. Maybe I am looking at the wrong product page.
Lastly, I am wondering what the OEM 35W lights would need to be retrofitted. If they have a ballast / ignitor, wouldn't a harness be the missing piece?
I definitely want to upgrade my kid's lights on his '12 R60, but will be smart about it all the same.
I have a pair of the Spyder halo headlights that just came in this week. I was wondering if the halo is really CCFL and not LED but it does have what is labeled as an LED inverter with the ED050-A1 part number.
They also have a label on them that says "HID bulb not allowed".

They are LED when I had seen them. Like the R56-R59 spyder style, they should have a bunch of little LEDs that the frosted plastic shield cover halo projects them look like one continuous halo.

Last night I was driving my wife's Countryman S, bringing the family home from the airport. It has the default factory halogens with the mediocre reflector design. I saw a pair of raccoons on the road too late to do much but shift the impact point from center to corner of car. No significant damage to the car but man, did that drive home how much the factory lights suck compared to the HID option or the LEDs in my F55. They've got to go.
So I went to the ECS site and there appear to be two identical projector upgrades, one Spyder one Sonar, the latter costing $150 less:
What's the $150 difference, aside from the chrome vs blackout options?
I really don't care about "look" and won't be adding an HID bulb. I know from past experience that a well designed projector is a light cannon even with a halogen bulb and I don't fetishize the HID blue look. I just want my wife and kids to be safer!
