I used v32 and reset what I could, and kept trying again after resetting random modules.

I programmed it with an empty fsw_psw.man file.

I always wondered what happened if I accidentally wrote an empty fsw_psw.man file to a module. Is this definitely the way to reset a module?

I haven't done so yet, but my biggest fear is accidentally mismatching the file to write and the selected module. It's hard to believe that the UI to work with this stuff is so primitive. It sure seems like it wouldn't be rocket science to implement a GUI that reads a module, presents you with an editor so you can change values and then writes that data back to the module.

Has anybody seen my post in the "yes you can" thread? I'm having trouble coding FRM/FRM2. If anybody has some ideas or suggestions, I would like to hear them.

Juppers,

Do you know the attribute code for rear fogs? (ie: $880)

I am trying to add the rear fog option to my 2011 MCS, I have been able to successfully program several modules in the vehicle but have not yet modified the VO.

The option code for rear fogs is $5AAA.

Thanks,

Do you remember which modules you reset to get the rear fog option to take. I have added $5AA as an FA and wrote it to the CAS and FRM modules. Then I reset both the CAS and FRM by writing blank FSW/PSW.MAN files to them.

Am I missing something here?

My cable is on it's way from Canada While I'm waiting on it to arrive, I'd like to get everything I need to install and use the software on my 2011 R56 S.

I have just downloaded the "Mini Cooper Coding" file from this post, but it seems like the 2011 owners are having some problems. Are the v41 datens necessary for me? What about the EDIABAS version, is 7.2.0 included in the Mini Cooper Coding file I just downloaded?

Oh! And I read something about de-bridgeing pin 7 and 8 in the cable I ordered.

2010 and newer cars will need v45 daten files to work properly. The modules are essentially the same as the BMW ones. You can go to the sp daten section on www.bmwcoding.com and download a ear file for v45 and now even v46.

As for resetting modules to their defaults. Please read https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ncsexpert.html

It is a bad practice to reset a module using a blank .MAN file. The procedure I describe is recommend by folks on www.BMWCoding.com and works, as I needed to do it on my FRM3 module.

Why you want V32 DATENs??? Those are very old and no good for cars after 2009. Better the latest v48 DATENs available on bmwcoding.com. Also download and use BMW Standard Tools 2.11 which is again available on bmwcoding.com (includes EDIABAS 7.2.+).

Also having some trouble coding FRM. I followed GTecko's guide for installing NCSexpert. I was able to code in 1-touch sunroof and also remote closing windows; however it's giving me error when I try to read the FRM module which is the important one I need.

I've pretty much read every thread available and it seems like the consensus was to update the Ebiabas. I downloaded the new BMW tools and installed the new ebiabas (backing up the old ebiabas for the INI file beforehand) , and then replaced the new ini file in the bin folder with the new one.

Doesn't seem to be doing anything...I believe I'm currently on V51.2 Datens while previously trying V45 that was in the compilation. I have a 2010 r56. I tried programming a 2007 and it was the same issue with the FRM module. Any help would be great.

Hello everyone! I started to program my car a few days ago. I have succesfull with CAS and KOMBI module, but i have problems with the FRM module. Also i programed friend's cars of our club without problem (CAS and KOMBI).

My car is a 2007 R56 non-s so i think that i need v32 datens, because i tried with v38, v40, v46, v49 and v51.2. I have Ediabas 7.2 and 7.3 (different computers).

Can you share v32 datens with me? It's impossible find this file.

Greetings from Chile!

I'm trying to default the car so my new VO with the rear fog lights will take effect. Or if anyone knows which modules I need to reset singularly, that would be great too.
That frustrating, I tried the same and FRM module is still 'faulty'!!!
I tried to read from it and the TRC file is created but an error occurs.
The problem is I need to change the VO, and that is impossible (?) - I tried FA_READ and FA_WRITE, nothing.
I even tried v49!
Does anyone have the v32 datens?

v32 won't do you any good. You need same or newer datens than what you car is running. Older datens was the problem I had.
