NCS Expert. I THINK I found a copy on bmwcoding.com but I'm not entirely sure since the file name is "inpa k+can.rar"

If you have it and could upload it it would be great.

Thanks.

That should be the correct one. What version is it?

No clue yet. It's still downloading. German internet isn't exactly fast so it'll be another hour or so before I know.

Hmm all I could find on my desktop was ediabias 7.2. Link to download is below:

Fyi, there is a ton of information on the web about using NCSEpert, INPA and what cable is needed, etc.

Here are some recommended sites, along with the site I bought my cable from. I have not had a chance to read any MINIs yet, just BMWs, (1 and 3 series so far) but if you follow the directions carefully, you should be able to get the software working.

A couple things to note...
INPA, EDIABAS, NCSExpert and NCSDummy run only in 32 bit Windows.
BMW GT1, DIS run in Unix. Hence folks installing VMWare on windows and running them in a window.

For general coding, like fiddling with lighting, key/fob/roof stuff, BC in dash computer, etc, you would use NCSExpert. INPA is used to diagnose issues, and EDIABAS is a communications app that enables everything and runs in the background.

Here are some links for installation files, instructions and coding information. As you all get successful codes working on MINIs post them here on NAM and the other sites so folks can find out. Once I get access to some MINIs, I will do the same.

Installation and operation of the various BMW coding applications
http://bmwcoders.com/

Info on available codes for MINI and BMW
http://www.bmwcoding.com/forum.php

Cable you need. This one has been tested by lots of folks, including myself. It does take about six weeks to ship to the USA, but it works. Plus you need about six weeks of reading and application installation time to get everything working! (Well, maybe not quite that long)

Check the Google docs out. I disabled my led bulb errors (interior and exterior) by turning off most of the FRM modules by trial and error.

I can confirm that it's doable with a MacBook Pro and VMWare Fusion.

I have a 2012 Mini Cooper Hardtop, and after following the guide I am still having issues. In INPA my computer detects when I turn on and shut off my car, however when I fire up ncs expert load up the profile and pick the r56 chassis I get the following 2 errors:

'vin is faulty'
COAPI-2020: no answer from ECU
IFH-0009 NO RESPONSE FROM CONTROL UNIT

I am using the v45 dates, and ediabias 7.2. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I've been able to code the comfort close sunroof option on a few cars but I've gotten the request to do this on a 2013 R57 convertible. So does anyone know if it's possible to close the sunroof portion of the R57 with the key fob the same way you'd close the R56 sunroof?

I'd think it'd be the same code but I'm not sure.

Am getting ready to try it using Bootcamp and Win 7, just ordered the cable, which means I have six weeks to get all the reading done! Will post results for both Bootcamp and coding

R59 NCS Expert Coding

Hi, has anyone successfully coded through NCS Expert to the 2012 Mini R59 Roadster? Will BMW Standard Tools v2.11 suffice? Looking for some friendly advice. Thanks.

hello all, first off thanks to those who have done a ton of leg work for us all. I have installed everything and purchased the correct cable off of amazon for $30! once I recurved the cable I tested inpa and everything was on. then I opened ediabas and noticed it's in German even though I selected English. I was able to read a trace file but i would like to be able to see what I actually clicking on, any help would be great.

Yes, alot of this install is in English, the tabs at the bottom, the menu's, but the results come back in partial German.

Also, Does anyone know of a listing for the error codes for an R56. I'm getting 5D8C, 5E05,

and a general error, ERROR_ECU_SERVICE_NOT_SUPPORTED

Thanks

I have a 2007 MCS and would like to install NCS Expert along with purchase the right cable and make changes. I have tried to download the program, but it keeps giving me an error when it goes to the site for download. Can you get me to a good site along with where I can get a good cable?

Thanks
Richard

Not exactly. The module for sunroof cars is SHD, while the Convertible is CVM if I recall from working on mine the other night. There is an option I found and set on mine for comfort closing the top, but I cannot get it to actually work (either that or I don't know the correct keyfob sequences). If you figure it out please post back here.

I've also had issues getting the side windows to one touch up. My car is a 5/13 build R57 and I have been using the 49.4 datens, and BMW tools 2.12.

Did some digging around some other forums. One guy was able to get his e93 to do it, and another had it working but had taken the car in for service and they flashed his modules. After flashing, he put the same codes in and he lost the functionality.
