My apologies for not reading the entire thread so it may have been covered. Is there a way to make bluetooth streaming audio available on a non-comfort access car?

Just wondering if anyone has had any luck getting D_Motor tests working in INPA? These are the ones that could display analog and digital data from the DME. It looks as if they are called from the INPA\SGDAT files MUST_EXX .SCR and MUST_EXX .TXT. If so how?

I wanted to add something I just figured out. I coded my 2008 Cooper to turn on the heartbeat anti-theft light on top of the tach. I have been trying to figure out 2 codes that are sitting in my SPEG. One is if for a tilt sensor, and 1 is for a passenger compartment sensor. I have not been able to find out anything on these codes and it just hit me why they are there. I told the car I have the upgraded anti-theft but never installed it. It is looking for the other pieces which are not in the car, therefore it is setting those codes. If you find these codes A871 and A872. I wanted to share since it feels like searching for these codes is a dead end.

What did you use to turn on the heartbeat? I always wanted that but never could get it to work.

I had tried this in the past but it did not work.

Code:
Enable alarm system
Change to aktiv to enable. (Alternative: add $302 to the VO)
SPEG	DWA_VERBAUT

The heartbeat code only works on 2007 to 2009 maybe some 2010. Unless you run wires over to the fuse panel.

Looking for help getting Inpa for R56. I have inpa working, ncs expert coding works successfully, but in inpa I don't have any R56 menu and I don't know how to get one in there. Looks like I need some r56.ENG file and I can't find such a thing in any of the packages I have downloaded.

Anybody here with insight on how I can get R56 menu/configs on my inpa?

I have 3 versions of inpa/ncs expert downloaded. Currently installed on my Windows 10 laptop is the "Mike's easy bmw tools" to which I copied the v40 datens I found in an ncs expert package called "mini cooper coding" (by GTECKO?). This works fine for NCS expert and Inpa sees battery/ignition. It says I have version 5.0.6. I believe I have edibias 7.3 as per versions.def.

Any help is appreciated, trying to clear airbag light if it matters.

Thanks,
Roby!

I'm also interested in the answer.

But I do suggest that you install the newest datens. V40 are ancient.

I have the v53 datens and also cannot get INPA to show anything other than the fact that the battery and ignition are on.... F1 and F2 commands are populated, but there are no other options to select - and thus I cannot read my cars DTCs.

Anyone get INPA working on a 2012 R60 or the like?

V61 Datens

I've uploaded the V61 Datens for the R55 through R61 at the link below. It's a rather large file at over 2 gig. It will stay on the site until it hasn't been downloaded for 20 days. After that poof its gone. Once you enter your email a download link will be sent to you. I know it's a bit of monkey motion but finding a host for a file this size for free with no download limits... well they couldn't make it too easy now could they? Happy Motoring

I got INPA working - I ditched Mike's tools and installed the ISTA Rheingold tools. At that point, everything started working.... and it works natively on w10! The only thing I am still battling with is the BMW Coding Tool. I am getting an MSCOMCTL.OCX fault.

Good choice on switching to ISTA. Much better program. Haven't used INPA in a while but still occasionally use NCS for specific coding tasks. Two words of caution though if using ISTA-P for programming.

1. Never ever try to program a DME/ECU with a K+DCAN cable. Use an ICOM preferably or E-SYS. I have read of people trying it on a BMW and the K+DCAN being so slow it timed out and bricked the ECU.
2. If using an ICOM, absolutely positively invest in a 70 to 100 amp, 13.8+ volt power supply. If voltage drops below 13 volts the program will stop which will cause you some grief. Could be a lot of grief, up to and including having to replace ECU's. During programming, certain systems get activated such as the cooling fan or lights. These draw a lot of amps and voltage will drop fast without the right equipment.

Thanks for the tips. I have not used ISTA-P -- still use NCS because I learned on it and am used to it.

I only have a K+DCAN cable at present... and have never had an issue, but appreciate the words of wisdom on the battery supply.

Is this what I am looking for?

Amazon Amazon

and

Yep that's the cable. Actually now that I think about it I'm fairly sure the ESYS cable only works on the newer F series. ISTA-D will read and clear codes on MINI's with K+DCAN but without an ICOM I'd stick to WinKFP for programming.

That's excellent news. Have you tried to update the DME yet?

Excellent that should save some of our NAM brothers some money. bmwcoding and bimmerfest had a couple of horror stories of people bricking FRM's, DME's, etc trying it. Since I can't run that risk with clients cars I went with an ICOM Next plus ICOM B. The infotainment are on the MOST loop and ICOM B is the only way to get to them.

Guys i need help
Can someone guide me to how to enable aux on my R56 mini. It has mini wave radio, it has aux input but aux option doesn't show up, just fm and CD. Does anyone have experience with this? I ordered cable for NCS expert. But any tip would be helpful! Thank you in advance.

On my R56 the AUX icon is missing from the menu unless an audio source is connected and then the menu rescanned.

That is interesting info which i didn't know. I used some 3.5mm cable which i have now but it didn't work. Is there any special way to rescan or it is automatically? Now i ordered another cable to see if it's cable problem
Anyway i would like to know as i was reading that there is chance my aux is disabled because i had flat battery in r56. Should aux option be present in NCS dummy? as option to just be enabled?
