Is there a right side? The JCW body kit only has a left side. The MCS has fogs on both.

The early JCW cars didn't come from the factory with the aerokit. That said, it wasn't until 2011 that the JCW aerokit had the reverse in the bumper. Prior to that, the rear bumper had two fog lights as the reverse lights were still in the taillights.

Hey, I've got a 2013 R56. I finally got my cable working, and now I'm having problems using NCSexpert.

I try to load the data and everything works except FA. This is using the v38 datens, and then I tried replacing the files with the v40 datens and they didn't work either. Are there newer datens that I can get so this works, or is it a different problem?

I'm on INPA 5.00, NCSexpert 3.0.1

You need newer datens. The countryman thread has 53.0.5 posted for download.

Okay, so I got the v54 datens and now NCSexpert finds my FA as well as all the other info. Now I'm getting this error:

This error happens when I try to read the FRM module, but it didn't happen when I tried to read the KOMBI module. What's wrong with my setup? Is my ediabas missing something?

I'm on EDIABAS 6.4.7

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to diagnose the Trifecta on my 04 Prefacelift R53. Can I use any of the programs in the first post to do that? I have spent the day playing with modules and coding things, but I haven't find any way to read the error codes.

Thanks.

Latest daten link

1. After defaulting the frm, cas, rad2 modules the auto-lock the doors above X speed is not working. I check both modules TRC files and it seems that it is enabled.
Any idea?

2. How do you know you haven't done anything that affects any safety mechanism (i.e. Air bags etc.)?

Don't you enable auto lock doors via the BC (button on the wiper stalk)? Check this.

Airbags are a separate module.

Help with NCS

How do I code for getting my head unit to activate the USB (or speak to) and Aux Ports, and the Bluetooth 6NF in my Mini Clubman 2008?

What are the steps I need to take?

I have never done this before but I am learning from scratch and will not attempt it until I understand it well.

Or Perhaps someone can direct me.

I understand the very basics from this.

Getting a little closer but still having problems.

I now have a connection to INPA (at least partly).

First pic shows that I can read engine data.

Live engine data - check.

Second and third photos show a problem accessing other modules in INPA.

Error trying to access BC1

And, error trying to retrieve the VIN in NCS Expert. Verified R50 Daten file in the correct place.

NCS Expert error

So, you think this could be a faulty cable since some of the modules in INPA are working and others are not? Or a bad install of the software?

If I can get the build date to change and then do an sg_reset, it should work. So I am basically stuck until I can figure out how to put in a build date later than dec 2009. I don't know if it is a different format past that date or what. I'm using v49.4 datens fyi.
I just ran into this... lost phone and usb... did you get this resolved?
I just got everything working, even the mic and now this..

Update:
I happened to have the original harness and modules from the donor car so I cobbled it back together (complete with ground via alligator clips)
Ran ISTA/P and it "reanimated" the radio module(s) complete with Phone/BT, Aux and USB. Happy Daze

I think the problem may have occurred because VIN and VO mismatches. During an upgrade ISTA/P noted that the radio was not on the VO and like a noob I let it proceed to reconfigure the radio.

Any suggestions on how to get the Car to accept the radio as family?
The Newer radio is 6512 3457052-02 HD Radio, CD, BT Phone and USB going into a 2009 Cooper that had MOST Fiber and BT unit.

Best

I killed my car with NCS Expert

In reprogramming my ECU, I managed to kill my car. Not only does it not respond to turning the key on, when I turn the key off, the windows make a bad clacking noise and judder up and down. If I try to start it, nothing happens. I have unplugged the battery and will call a tow truck Monday.

So THREE YEARS AGO, I reset my ECU to not read my bad airbag seat sensor and everything was great. Then due to a recall, I took my 2005 R50 (regular mini cooper) in for a new seat sensor. The airbag light stayed on and the mechanic said I would have to bring it back so the people in New Jersey could reprogram it remotely.

Well.. having turned the sensor off, I felt I could just turn it back on. I made a mistake. When it said the default ECU program was "SG_CODIEREN",
I thought it meant that this was your default choice. No, this loads whatever is in a *.MAN file into your brainbox. Since my .MAN file was empty or something other then what was needed...

IT TOTALLY WIPED MY BRAINBOX OUT AND MY CAR CAN'T EVEN SIT IN THE GARAGE WITHOUT TRYING TO KILL ITSELF.

I have unplugged the battery.

Sadly,
Peter

Update, not so dead.

It turned out I downloaded the original files before I killed it. I reloaded them and unplugged the battery and put it on a charger.

After an hour I plugged it all back up and voila, it is alive and well.

Happy Thanksgiving,
Peter

Since this forum is much more active, I'll repost here.

Anyone in the San Diego/Orange County area that would be willing to walk me though getting started? I have the cable, & I think I have the software properly loaded on my Windows tablet. I'm an engineer, & I'm pretty savvy with computers, but I wouldn't mind someone holding my hand the first time though (metaphorically speaking). I will come to you & buy you lunch, or dinner, or whatever. My car is a 2005 R53 JCW.

VIN error

Good afternoon,

My car is a 2005 MCS. I got a cable that was recommended here on this forum. It's clear plastic, & it says K + DCAN USB Interface (INPA Compatible) in black on a silver sticker. Pin 8 is NOT removed on mine.

I got the software installed, & it appears that I am hooked up, because INPA can see when I turn my key on & off. But when I try to read in NCSexpert, I get a VIN error. I have completely cleared out the Work directory, & made an empty FSW_PSW.MAN file, but to no avail. After I try to read my car, there is a file in the Work directory called SYSDATEN.TRC. When I open it, it shows what I presume to be a VIN number , it says "Fahrgestell_NR" (which Google translates as "Chassis number") followed by what looks like a VIN. Only problem is, it isn't mine. Is there another file elsewhere that the VIN could be stored in that would need to be deleted before I try to read my car? I should add that I am running the software on a virtual machine, which was an image I downloaded, but as I stated, it seems to be connecting to the car, because INPA knows when I have the ignition on.

Ediabas is 4.0.0.3, NCSexpert is 4.0.1.0, INPA is 5.0.6

Hi Tom, I thought I would post this here to help the larger community as well Looking around on some bimmer forums it looks like the Chrono Packagev(KOMBI) you installed could be giving the error since all of the different units in the car are tied to a VIN. I read somewhere that the WinkFP program in the vm image can 'copy' the vin info from your old module to the new one. I have no idea what that means but it might help out. Do you have the old speedo you can install to see if that will get you past the VIN error? If so you could then code the stuff you want to do then reinstall the chrono package.

here is someone flashing a module with a new vin. and here is the video at a part (1:14) where he shows where to read all the vins from the modules.
It also looks like they dont recommend doing any flashing with the DCAN OBD connector. It looks like they want you to use an OPS
cable https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ml#post4151720

Out of curiosity did you ever figure out what was wrong? I have a 2013 MCS and am having the exact same problem.

Is there a copy of this MINI only version that works with 64bit Windows 10?

This following thread explains all I want to try:

Just did this with the Mini I bought.

I highly recommend people create a Windows XP VM as explained here that works perfectly with the package on the front page. https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/downlo...-microsoft-si/

Couldn't get any of the others to work as easily and after beating my head against it for two hours that method was relatively painless.

Also used this Amazon cable: Here or here (non aff link.)

Good luck!

Hey everyone,

Would this cable work for my 2012 R56 LCI Cooper S?

Amazon Amazon
I got this link from NCS's website.

If not, what is the most recommended cable now?

Also, which software should I purchase?

Thanks!
