Rear fog Light Install

So here is the deal:
I have 2006 MC. My car came with only black plastic cover on the rear bumper (for fog light). I found out that on this year MC this was an "option"...
I did not like the black plastic "look", so I ordered original rear fog light to put in... When I installed it, I realized that my car was "wired" under the bumper cover for this light. Plug in connection was already there neatly taped off with the rest of the electrical wires. When I installed the light housing, I just clicked in the original connection to the rear of the housing. Now, of course this is a "dummy" light at this moment...
My question: if I replace my original switch panel (windows/door locks/...) with the one that have switch for rear fog light- will the rear fog light work?
Is that the only thing missing or I have to go in to electrical upgrade as well?
Anybody tried this?

I'm pretty sure you have to take it to the dealer and have them turn on the rear fog option in the ecu, then it should work

The dealer usually charges 1/2 hr labor to change the settings.

the dealer will charge about $50 to reprogram the body control module to turn on the Fog light. I had this done on my car and my wifes car. now I have Bavarian Technics ($287) and can do these things myself. I figured I have 2 cars and do most of my repairs my self so it was worth the expense
