So, I've been working on this mentally for over a year.
I finally have DRLs. I took hella 500s and put in lower wattage
amber h3 bulbs. (the LED idea just didnt work they were not
powerful enough to shine through the glass).
Unfortunately, I found out about a light bracket from a NAM
vendor too late. I ended up dremmeling out my front grill.
It took me 4 hours to make it where you can't tell.
I got the driving light install kit from morristown mini.
The hella 500s were thin, but not as thin as the mini
driving lights.
I had to dremmel out the plastic chrome stuff on the grill.
There are some after market brackets I don't think you had to
do this. It took me half a day extra to make sure I was not
cutting out extra.
Otherwise, it was a straight install by the directions.
They are wired directly to the battery, and in addition, to
my own supplimental fuse box. As noted on the valentine install,
the only wire from the car is the auxilliary power to signal the car
is active.
I also have a seperate switch for the lights (not shown, but identical
to the valentine) so I can have the lights on only in the day and pretty
much only on multilane roads like my interstate commute.
