I would suggest making sure aftermarket stereo lights up orangish like oem lighting.

If you do get aftermarket, would you sell me oe harness, leading to back panel, a 3pin cd cable and a 6pin usb cable?

Check in the audio nav forum.

Under show us your sub install there's a couple their.

All ya need really is the deck you want. Must be a single DIN (standard size), The fill in plastic part, and the wire harness. I installed my own. Turned out great but i am gonna upgrade the deck.

The fisrt Mini I ever test drove had an aftermarket headunit in it and ever since that I thought they just looked out of place. I've never kept an OEM headunit in any car I've owned except the Mini, there's just something that makes me want to keep the look of the OEM unit.. I dunno.. Just my two cents

Lots of pictures here: http://www.mini2.com/forum/interior-...t-gallery.html

You'll have to accept that all aftermarket stereos look a bit funny and out of place (some more than others).

x2! actually this is the first car ive ever owned that I hardly use the radio because of the sound of the engine and exhaust tones. and I only use the AC when it hits 100 or above because I dont want the power loss

Hahha, while it may be a few months behind I'll agree with you 10)% mula! I rarely, if ever, put the radio on, only when its a road trip and a lot of just driving vs. city / canyon driving where all I need is to hear when Mallory's @ 6500 RPM, and my god does she sound great
