got a custom made little pull behind trailer for my mini. its tiny, but will hold my freezer perfectly. wiring up the brake lights/turn signals was kind of an afterthought.
anyone know an easy DIY for wiring the mini to a regular trailer plug?
thought about just running a direct splice in line from turn signal and brake lights, but I thought i'd read to see if that worked first. I read something that I need a hopkins 47275 converter instead so as not to play havoc with the car computer.
any experience with these? or is that even the right thing to get? or how to wire it up?
got a hoppy kit from amazon.
need some help figuring out the wiring colors:
i can't for the life of me figure out the wiring color coding.
have the white to ground, red to battery with fuse.
the obvious and easy parts.
I've spliced into about everything else, but can't get a reading.
looking for the brake, tail, left turn, (and right turn once i get to that side)
the green, grey(AKA purple), yellow, brown and blue seem to be what i'm after, but i get no reading on voltmeter.
would figure that the brown would be ground since the browns go to the autobody ground, green or yellow would be turn signals, but need some help, i think the mini's color combo are a bit different from the norm.
hoppy wires are brown=park/tail, yellow=left signal, red = brake, green=right, large red- battery, white=ground.
Picture of driver's side taillight plug to assist in wiring (worth 1000 words):
Yes, I know this is an old post, but this helped me... Had to run a jumper wire from the PS taillight under the boot carpet to activate the right turn signal wire. With an S, you can draw battery power from the batt. under the boot floor, makes wiring a snap.
