Headlight bulb replacement

I have the regular bulbs. I just need an H7 bulb to replace the current ones, right?

The ones I'm looking at say they're "filled with Xenon gas" and this is confusing me

Nevermind, I found my answer - you need two sets of H7 bulbs; one for high beams and one for low.

ive just bought some ice blue xenons for high and low beem they look great... but i havent fitted em yet LMAO looking to plonk them in today (excuse the technical jargen) ;-) hehe

Apparently to fit em you need to (for anyone that doesnt know)

1) remove the rubber covers at the back of the headlight (easily pull off)
2) unclip the little metal spring (U-Shaped) leave one side clipped in
3) bulb should pull out of housing (make sure youve got a cloth for handling the bulb itself)
4) disconnect the bulb (make sure you check to see if they need to be replaced the same way as they were disconnected)
5) plug in the new bulbs DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS!!!

6) you may wish to give the lights a quick test to make sure that each bulb you replace is working correctly

7) replace the spring (ive heard its really fiddley trying to clip the bulb back into the housing)
8) do this to all 4 lights full beam and low beam and bobs your aunty your lights should be good to go.

im hoping these steps are correct as this is how im gona do mine. ill post if anything is different to what ive stated but ive done my research so should be pretty accurate.

wish me luck people... im going in! ;-p lol

correct depending on the year. The retention system changed 07/2004 according to the Haynes. I know my 02 used a retaining clip that swung over the back of the bulb while later a set of three fingers was used.

For the early method be sure the bulb is properly aligned with the slot and swing the clip back into place. Working over your head it is a bit hard to see what's up but no biggie.

For the latter method the trick is getting the bulb out .... you need to press one of the fingers back. I use a small screw driver; the bulb will pop back a bit and can be worked free of the other two clips. To replace just get the alignment correct with the locator slot and push past the three fingers. Again, working a bit blind and over your head.

Once you get the hang of it you sould be able to finish in 5 minutes.

******WARNING******

THE DRIVING BEAM (DIPPED BEAM, DRIVING LIGHTS) ARE NOT H11's or H7s---

THE DRIVING BEAM BULBS ARE D2R's i cant replace my driving beam bulbs because i only have the H11s and H7s :-(

ive replaced the HIGH BEAM (H7s)

ive now gota look at getting some ICE BLUE D2Rs :-S pricey!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I found the best method for taking out my Main Beam lights was this-

1) at the top of the light bracket you will see a spring cliped behind a latch push the spring in and move to the right
**** you will notice the light becomes lose
2) disconnect the bulb from the plastic plug and allow the plastic to dangle freeley from the lights

3) keep hold of the bulb to make sure it doesnt drop n break

4) move spring out of the way of the bulb prongs and remove the bulb.

to replace

1) put the bulb back into the housing and close the spring up over the light and clip the spring back into its latch.

2) push the plastic plug back onto the bulbs prongs

3) if you want to make sure the plug is fixed to the prongs properly undo the spring so it is out of the way of the fitments and just push firmly then clip the spring back into the latch.

Thanks. hope this is helpful for anyone that didnt know... LIKE ME!

Hi Soni,

Yea its a piece of cake... easier than the dipped beam. why whats the problem? ive got 10K xzenon dipped (driving beam) dark blue high beam and aerotek blue neon sidelights. they look awesome together different blues but very kool lookin.

for the legallity side of things... i guess its not legal but ive driven passed and pulled up by lots of police and had no issues with it.
