JCW

Did Mini make a JCW kit for a 2007 Cooper S? Not just the Aero Kit, Brakes, and cosmetic upgrades but performance upgrades? If Mini didn't is it possible to add the JCW performance upgrade after market? Next if the Mini has the JCW performance upgrades how could one tell?
I am looking a buying a used 2007 Mini Cooper S that is supposed to be a JCW version. It has all the cosmetic Works equipment, carbon fiber, scoop, interior, rear air dam, JCW brakes, Stabilizer bar, air filter, everything, but i can not tell if it the engine upgrade.

I still plan on buying it, but this info will help me negotiate a price.

See ya on the road!!

DE, I don't have a direct answer to your question but I ran across this little tidbit of info in another thread which might help:

"One way to tell the difference between a Cooper S with JCW tuning kit and a factory JCW car is if you stand behind the 'S' you'll see the Cooper S badge where it always is and the JCW badge on the opposite side of the boot, if you stand behind a factory JCW it will only have a JCW badge and that will be where the Cooper S is normally."

Our club has a fairly small representation of 2nd Gen JCWs so you might not get the response you're seeking in this thread. I see you've also posted your question over in the JCW Garage...I'm sure you'll get more replies over there.

Good luck!

I dont believe that 2007 or 08 were factory JCW kits they were usually added at the dealership.

There is a 2007 JCW MINI, but everything you order from the factory is dealer installed as far as JCW Aero kit and such as far as I know.

As noted here, the JCW Aero, brakes, and JCW tune kit were all dealer installed. One way to tell if it does have the JCW tune, is by the air intake, it looks like the factory JCW intake and the exhaust. The exhaust tips will have JCW Cooper engraved on them. That is unless, they have changed the exhaust. The exhaust outlets are also larger than the regular Mini S. Also, anyone that did pay to have this JCW kit installed....$2100, then they should have kept the signed authenticity from Mike Cooper.

Good luck, sounds like a good buy.
