I'm thinking of joining the Mini community. I've got my eye on a couple 2005-2006 MCS's and one 2006 JCW. We don't have a local Mini dealership, so I was wondering if anyone has seen any for sale locally that I could go test drive (preferably a manual)?
Also, was wondering where people were taking their Mini's for service in Davenport?

Gil-galad... Just completed a nice 4 day trip to Decorah for some fishing on the Upper Iowa river. Camped at Pulpit Rock campground. Did a 5.2 mile canoe/fishing trip starting from just upstream from there. The fishing was phenomenal. We had a 24.5" Walleye and a 28" Walleye during that trip. Not to mention 24 trout and more Smallies than you could count, including 6 over 17". You're lucky to live in such a great area!

Glad you had a great trip. I know the water level is pretty low right now, but obviously that didn't a negative effect on your fishing. Yeah, we really like it here and try not to take things for granted. About the only disadvantage is that I usually have the longest drive of anyone to get to the majority of our local MINI gatherings...
...but come to think of it, that means I get to enjoy more MINI motoring time!
Good luck with your MINI search. We have several Quad-Cities area folks in EIM; hopefully they'll hop onto this thread with some recommendations for you.

We have no snarky MINI friends here (thanks for that word, Brian). This bunch of MINI folks is the nicest bunch in the midwest, so you are among friends already, Doctor D.
If you are willing to drive there is one for sale way out here in central Nebraska. It is a local owner I will try to get by their house and get the info for you. It is CR/WH Cooper S not sure of the year.
