OKay, time to sign up for the Swamp Fox Parade on Sept. 6th, Marion, IA.
This will be a "ROYAL" event as we will be escorting the recently crowned National American Miss - 2008 Miss Iowa Jr. Pre-Teen Queen. She will be riding in Steve and Bobbi's (MINI) convertible.
Our theme will be "Tying the MINI's together. A Mini Queen riding in a MINI".
Please sign up ASAP. I have attached the info and sign up registration form on a pdf file. Suggestions for information are; Name of driver, year and description of your car, etc.
Please return your registration to me via e-mail or snail mail no later than Aug. 20 so I can submit them all together.
HR, I believe there are a couple of lines down the page for information that Larry would like from you (e.g., description of your MINI, names of those who will be driving/riding, etc.--he has suggestions in his first post).
This is going to be a neat event! Picture all of our MINIs in lines of two abreast like horses drawing a carriage, leading the "MINI Queen" waving from the back of Steve and Bobbi's Cool Blue Cabrio.
Bottom line: We want and need lots of MINIs to appropriately honor this young girl's accomplishment. Marion is just about as centrally located as it can be, so it should be an easy drive for everyone. We want to see you there for the parade!

This schedule from Larry for Saturday's Swamp Fox Festival Parade is available over on the EIM website, but for convenience I thought I'd reiterate it here in the associated NAM planning thread:
---------------
Schedule of Eastern Iowa MINIs Parade Events:
Meet up at 9:00 AM (or earlier if you want to clean up your car) in the mini-mall at the intersection of South 11th Street and Grand Ave
-- Get there via highway 100 (Marion bypass), turn off at East Post Road (traffic lights), go North about 3 blocks -- East Post turns into South 11th Street
-- Highway 100 is Collins Road from the West, and from the East it intersects with highway 13/151
-- Getting to our meet up point through downtown Marion will be a problem because the streets will be blocked and some walker/runners may still be finishing up their 5 K event
There is a car wash across the street from the meet up point
Staging point for the parade is two blocks from meet up point
We must be in our parade position no later than 9:30 AM
Parade starts at 10:15 AM
Candy is encouraged, however they discourage throwing it from the car or float because of the danger of children running among the entry to retrieve it. Walkers??
After the parade, food, drinks, and entertainment will be held in the town square
