I have booked a room in Chilton, WI 53014 US about 17 miles north of Elkhart lake, WI at the Best Western. for Saturday night
if anyone cares to join in the fun the more the better... Prices a bit cheaper that Sheyboygan and closer that Fondulac (plus fondy is filling up fast)
Friday night I continue to hunt for but would like to get something close and not sure where close is just yet
The first night I booked at the Belden Stratford right accross from Lincoln park and the Zoo $214 a night but for down town (well not downtown to mauberley) not too bad and reviews very well.
that's northside... not too far from downtown... a quick trip down LSD, obviously not during rush hour
All I know is, I didn't grow up downtown.

The Belden-Stratford is pretty much right there, yeah. (Street parking's a b---- in the neighborhood, incidentally) Seems like the zoo is where the rally will start from--if that's the case, it's going to be... interesting. One to document for the photo album, for sure!

(I have fond memories of attending Trans-Am and Formula-V events at RA with my brother and Dad many moons ago...it would certainly be cool to get a MINI parade lap on the track!).

MTTS 2008 put out a pretty good Schedule of Events for their Chicago stop via their email distribution list today. It might help those of you who are on the fence about attending, so I'm including an excerpt as an attachment to this post.
Check out the MTTS 2008 site and get on their email list if you want to make sure you don't miss any announcements.

Is the post in the MTTS section about a Chicago Rest Stop on the 25th and a caravan into the city just a way to drum up business, or would that be a fun thing to do?
Well, it looks like I'll be able to join the EIM group for the bulk of MTTS.
I'll plan on driving up to Elkhart Lake on Saturday morning for the weekend events there. I'll be camping near Oshkosh with my brother and his son. They are coming up for the first part of the Oshkosh airshow, and I plan to stick around on Monday and hang out with them on the first official day of the airshow.

We'll be leaving the Quad Cities early Saturday am. We are going to try to catch the caravan headed north somewhere around the state line. Does any have a schedule showing the intended departure time from Lincoln Park Zoo? If we can't catch up, I guess we'll just have to meet in Elkhart Lake later in the day.
I've been mining the MTTS and CMMC forums for an answer, and it appears that an officially sanctioned (by MTTS) route from the zoo to Elkhart Lake is forthcoming but has not yet been published.
I'll try to help get the word out once that happens...

If anyone's interested, there is a Friday caravan route being put together by me and Jeff from the Chicago club--check out this post on the CMMC site for more details. Hopefully you can make it, but if not, we'll see you at MTTS!

We need to decide when we want to leave, ASAP. Our Nebraska friends are passing thru Des Moines, Iowa City, and the Quad Cities on the 25th. They are waiting for our plans to help them plan. If we want to join the Chicago Club, we'll need to leave earlier. It would be farther for us, but it might be more fun to arrive at UIC with the locals.
What I know is that 4 MINIs are coming from NE, 4 will come from Des Moines, 3 from Iowa City, and 1 from the Quad Cities. That may change upward.
Somebody throw out a meetup time for one of the above locations and we can fill in from there.

I'm heading up on Saturday morning, so I'm a non-player in your Friday caravan plans.
Hope you get some responses to your call so you can organize something.

The meet up time/location in Des Moines has been established.
At I-80, exit 142 (actually 142A if you are East-bound, 142 if you are
West-bound). Head south to Adventureland Drive, then east to Culvers.
Street address for Culvers is:
2535 Adventureland Drive
Altoona, IA 50009
There are other fast-food type choices immediately nearby, in case
Culver's isn't on your short list of favorite places.
Meet up sometime between 11am and 11:15am if you plan to eat lunch
with the group. If not sharing a meal, then be there by 11:45am and
count on a 12:00 Noon-sharp departure East-bound on I-80.
