You think you're tired of the snow? Check out this pic from a couple of days ago (yeah, before the fresh 8" we got today ).
This pile is just east of my driveway. Note its height relative to the basketball hoop. You can just see the roof of our Subie peeking over the mound. I've got a similar mountain range on the west side of the driveway too. Two glaciers that will persist for a while, me thinks...

We're also under a ton of snow. Unlucky for my husband is that just yesterday he picked up his new Mini - I traded in my old 05 and ordered a new 08 that will be here in a few weeks...and my poor husband had a devil of a time moving the car up the hill of our drive today. I think he was used to his heavier Jetta. But give him time, he'll come around.
We only got 2 -3" and it's already starting to melt off, the roads cleared on their own by yesterday afternoon. But yes, I'm tired of snow and ready for spring! of course, then I'll just be bitching about the heat and humidity!

What normally is a 45 minute drive took 1:45 this morning and in 20 miles there were 78 cars in the ditch
No MINIs among them, I presume...
I passed that way on Saturday. Even sans snow cover, the pot holes on that stretch of I-380 along the centerline and shoulder-lines look like gaping chasms that could quickly put one on the fast track to tire, wheel, and suspension hell.

In 2005 I put a snow shovel on my shoulder and headed South from Indiana When someone asked me what I was carrying I figured I was far enough South. The sun is out and it's going to be in the high 60s today in central Georgia. God, I hate snow and cold and I feel for you folks in Iowa.

Thanks for your sympathy, now send that heat this way...
Well the pot holes allong 380 are indeed hell but last night watching the plow up my street was a riot he hit a huge chunk of ice and turned the whole plow sideways in the street stuck between two banks of snow they had to bring the large skid loader out to turn him arround, and lowe and behold today there out there with a crew of 5 cleaning up my road...
We've avoided most of the snow lately, but the other nite it rained for about 12 hrs. then froze. Had to pry the garage door up from the ice to get it open. Sooo sick of this cold weather... enough already !! Minis have performed well, but I don't like the look of all that salt on the sides.

Can't wait for mine to get here as well!
It may have had more to do with the solid ice on an incline than the weight. Got it up the drive eventually with some help. Been enjoying my new MINI a ton.
