"...indeed the love that the horses of the Rangers bore for their riders was so great that they were willing to face even the terror of the Door, if their masters' hearts were steady..." --- J.R.R. Tolkien
If you would like to have the design customized for you, then please send me a PM with your photo or graphic and name(s). I will email you a letter-size PDF containing 12 cards. Then you can have copies made, to leave at "MINI Sightings" or meets, or to give to the person who says, "I LOVE your car!"

Reason: Salutation

I must say, Molly is looking quite spiffy in your personalized pic!
Yeah, I got her a couple pairs of winter shoes and thought she ought to have a new portrait with them on. Just don't mention it to her, or she'll want to go shopping again
Well, Eastern Iowa MINIs turned one-month old this week. Woo hoo!
I couldn't resist recapping where our young group has been over this short period of time:
- From an initial start of 5 people in 4 MINIs writing down ideas on a napkin over breakfast, our infant contact list has grown to include 19 new friends and 12 MINIs (and we haven't really done any serious outreach yet!)
-- Thus far, we range geographically (N to S) from Decorah to Ft. Madison and (E to W) from Rock Island to Cedar Falls
-- 5 MC and 7 MCS; one JCW and no Cabrios (yet)
-- 3 DS, 3 PW (), 2 CR, 1 AB, 1 MY, 1 LiB, and 1 IB
-- Half 1st Gen and half R56's (lots of new wheels )
- We've created and maintained a well-established presence on NAM
- We have our very own cool logo, merch to display it, and cards to tag prospective new group members' MINIs
- We've joined the Madison, WI group for a fun motoring event and made new friends over in "America's Dairyland"
- We've planned and hosted our own inaugural motoring event that was well attended and, by most accounts, both successful and fun (D3m0N's bent rim aside ); and we had the pleasure of meeting new friends from the IA Yahoo! MINI group
I'd say that's not too bad for the first 30 days. Thanks to everyone for their enthusiasm and support. Let's keep it going.

Well, It looks like i joined at just the right time I was wondering if there was anyway i could get some of those cards to tag cars with. I see a few every now and than with as much driving as i do. If i can tag some cars when I'm out adventuring this group might explode. Thanks again for letting me join and hope to meet up with everyone in person sometime.

Posts #47 and #55 in this thread will lead you to a couple of options. R56MINI's post has a link to a commercial site and his card design. Oldsbear has done some graphics work of his own and would probably be willing to design in your own personal touch if you PM him.

...also, for the benefit of the new folks, don't forget to check out the first post in the "Gear" thread in our forum...has a link to some nice stuff bearing our awesome logo.
Pick up some kool Eastern Iowa MINIs swag, and wear it with pride.

srmitch2, welcome welcome welcome to NAM and to Eastern Iowa MINIs!
D3m0N and I co-coordinate the EIM forum on NAM. We are a very young but growing group of friendly MINI enthusiasts. You can browse many of the threads here in our forum to get an idea of what we've been up to. We also have a relatively new website (http://www.easterniowaminis.org ) that you can check out--the photo gallery in particular will give you a little history of some of the things we've done since forming last fall. Also has links to other useful stuff.
So glad to see your post in this forum! Hope to get the opportunity to meet you sometime soon! Feel free to PM me or D3m0N anytime with any specific questions.

Our MCS has been flawless, so far. It's a daily driver in Cedar Rapids. So far, have done excursions on the Iowa Great River Road, to central Iowa last fall, even to St. Louis for it's first service in December. Looking forward to "dry" pavement and top down days.

Hope to see you out motoring soon and lets all hope for a fast spring
