How dark is your tint?

Summer is already upon us in the Valley with a vengeance and my MCS will be here in few days. My current car has a paltry 35% tint all around and I still have a wicked left arm farmers tan from my long daily commute.

I know the laws permit 33% in the front side windows and ANY % on the rear side/rear windows. Now, this may be inappropriate to ask as I don't want anyone to admit to violating AZ law, but is it 'safe' (i.e. no LE hassle) to go a bit darker, say around 20%? Aside from the aesthetics, I want as much UV/heat rejection as possible without getting pulled over everyday. What's been your experience?

I'm aiming for 20% but actually have no desire to tint the front. Looks cool, but that's REALLY asking for a ticket. Plus, it gets pretty dark out in the 'burbs so I don't want to impair nighttime visibility.

Stop tempting me man!
Another factor against: I've only been in Phoenix 8 months and I've already replaced 2 windshields from the countless desert rocks that get kicked up onto my car each day. Fortunately, I have full glass coverage, but retinting everytime would be Cha-Ching$$$$!

I think tinting the windshield would be great except I agree with Bone. I'm on my second windshield and cha-ching would be right. And I believe it is against the law in AZ. I just sayin'! LOL I went as dark as I can for the all my windows. It makes a big, big difference. I say, go as dark as you can Bud!

2% front, rear and hatch
15% windshield

I have gotten one ticket for Tint in AZ and its because a cop was driving side by side with me on the 17. Other than that, been pulled over multiple times for other reasons and havent gotten a ticket for tint. Just make sure you roll your front windows down if they are highly illegal... I would say 15% or less on the front two you have reason to be worried... however I see so many cars out there with illegal tint, i think its basically understood that people just want to block out the sun... this day and age though I think the cops are hurting for money too so watch out Check with some other members of the DMC, some are getting some special tint put on the sunroof
