Phoenix Indy Mechanics

I am planning on oil changes between recommended service intervals. I'd like to consider use of non-common oils like Biosynth or Royal Purple. Any one recommend an independent mechanic in Phoenix area that is reputable, knows MINIs, and might be willing to work with the custom oils?

I've been doing most of my oil changes myself, and agree, those are both great products. I know most mechanics, as long as its not an affiliated oil change shop, will usually be fine with using the oil of your choice if you buy it in advance and bring it in. A local Midas shop I've worked with for routine maintenance like oil changes, is happy to do that since they dont carry the Mobil 1 Synth I like to use.

Gratz on the new 08 Mini! I'll look on our forum to see if anyone posted a recommended shop. We've been getting more and more of our club members into doing that type of regular oil changes, etc, themselves. Made for some good garage day chats, and people seem to enjoy learning about their Minis too.

If you haven't yet, please drop by our forum too!

danjmcs,
Thanks for the reply. I had taken my previous vehicle (Saab) to Swedish AutoWerks with reasonable success, but do not know if they work on MINIs or with customer provided oils. I do know they did not like having customers provide their own parts for repairs. I might give John a call & see what's-the-what there. Unfortunately, my DIY options are limited.

I've been planning to register & join the DMC, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll be sure to drop by the DMC site again soon.
