Hi tfuhst,
We did receive your email over the weekend and processed the order with your correct email. You will be receiving shipping info before end of business day today! Don't be alarmed if the automated email about it shipping still shows the incorrect zip. It IS right!

Just looked at your site and saw that you don't have an option on the red silicone anymore. Any reason. I have red silicone on my CAI and wanted everything to match.

I purchased both upper and lower control arms with your endlinks for my R53 in October 07. They were professionally installed on 10/31/07. The left heim joint has failed and makes an annoying clunk. Looking back over my mechanic receipts, the clunk was heard just a few months after the install, but they couldn't diagnose it until last week. I've only put about 4000 miles on the car since the install, as it doesn't get driven in bad weather or over the winter at all, and I have three other vehicles. So I need a replacement bushing for the left side. Any warranty left on this considering the low miles driven on it? By the way, I also had your control arms installed on my R50 at about the same time, and those have been trouble-free with a lot more miles put on them.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the post and the repeat business. Shouldn't be a problem to get some new ends for (certain stips must be met, but not likely an issue.) Shoot ALTA_Chris a PM with your contact information, with e-mail address. Then we can get your inv# etc. to get things figured out.

Thanks again and have a GREAT weekend!

Alta Performance Feedback

I don't know about the problems others are/might be having with Alta products. My only regret is that I didn't wait until now to get 50% off.I've had their:CAI,turbo intake hose, boost tube hoses, and turbo intercooler air diverter on Margi(08 MCS JCW R56 hatchback)for almost a year now and no problems.Margi now buries the speedometer needle past the 150mph mark which she couldn't do before. There are indeed some places where the hoses touch other vibrating objects and the coolant tank is one of those areas, but so far no leaks holes or other problems. I recommend the pulley remover. I use the one piece to do the 20+ ones that I have done. I wouldn't attempt it with a standard puller but it could be done.

the problem is that i live in mexico i have with me the supercharger pulley right here, so if i rent one when it arrives i have to go to USA, just to pick it up then do the work over here and send it back and i don't think 3 weeks is enough because i can't go to usa everyweekend and it's $120 to buy it, and i don't think i'll do it to any other mini cooper :s

You can sell it to other MINI users in Mexico or install pulleys on their cars and make your money back!

I have purchased a FMIC/boost tube upgrade kit/CAI/lightened crack pulley/rear sway bar and am waiting for a boost gage kit/water temp gage kit/rear sway bar end links. I have never had any problems with any ALTA products and have seen a significant increase in power and performance. My goal for my Clubman has been to increase horsepower with out any mods that require me to remove parts that can't be replaced (i.e. drilling holes in components) and ALTA has been great for that (minus the water temp. gage, but another company makes a fix for that, but I wont advertise on this). I even got a 17% of coupon for being a valued customer once, but forgot to use it in time. So yeah, I like ALTA and recommend them to other MINI owners I know

I bought for my R56 the 3 tubes, the exaust, and the air deflector for my IC.

The tubes have only one year old and all of them have holes because the design is very bad. A lot of members of NAM have the same problems

http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...k-yours-2.html

and as can you see, no answer from ALTA.

Good news and bad news. I just purchased your CAI V.2. and installed it today on my R53! A bit surprised by the sound of it even after reading all of the other buyers comments, but it suits me just fine! The bad news, immediately after I put the intake in my "Service Engine Soon" light went on. I will admit that I had some trouble installing the intake, especially the hose that connects the oil to the pipe that goes from the intake to the engine. I ended up using the straight plastic nozzle and fed one end into the oil hose and the other to the pipe. Should this have been a problem? I didn't use the included 12" hose that came with the intake. Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated! I am not great with under the hood stuff but you have to start somewhere right?

Also, had customer service problems with Alta.

Bought an exhaust and decided to return it, had to call 3 days in a row to get information on returns.

What made it even worse is they don't refund the shipping cost that you paid and you have to pay the shipping cost to send it back...

Pretty pissed about that

It's pretty standard to have the customer pay return shipping charges unless the unit was defective. However, it's not standard for a part to fail (in my case it was a control arm endlink) after less than 4000 miles and their best offer is to give me $10 off the price of a replacement. When I asked for details on how the replacement is better than what already failed, they said it was manufactured differently, but there's no information on their website for me to research this at all. I spent over $770 on control arms for two MINI's with these guys. No more ALTA parts for me.

You just called yes? I am pretty sure if you ordered almost anything from anywhere (like best buy) and wanted to return it just because...you are responsible for shipping it back.

Gotta agree there, I have never heard of a company returning shipping fees just because a they changed their mind. Why should the company be out money because of your indecision?

In my case: The greatest Alta "For Never" sale

I made my 2nd order the friday the the 2nd october, it was a header for r53 @ 220$ (50% rabate + 50% coupon code rabate). I though my order has been taken and had to wait until I received. On the next wednesday, the 7th october, I was wondering why I didn't receive shipping confirmation until I saw Alta did a withdraw saturday the 3rd october and refund me back the next day, 4th october, on my credit card without an Alta representant contacted me before. I wrote them an email... no awnser. I wished they contacted me before bacause I would order an exhaust instead than a header that I couldn't never have!

On 10th october, I made an order for a r53 exhaust at 440$ and I received an email from Molly today stated me "Unfortunately, all R53 exhaust systems have been discontinued. We will be issuing you a refund to your account ASAP! I apologize for this inconvenience!".

So, for me, it was the GREATEST Alta Performance "For Never" sale!

I am so disapointed about Alta.

" ... all R53 exhaust systems have been discontinued..." Really? That's unfortunate. Anyway, I just bought one a few months ago, had a problem with the rear muffler, called Alta and they sent me out a new one with a return shipping label for the old one which I promptly sent back. I couldn't have asked for a better customer experience with the exchange.

There was one post (can't find it now) where Alta said there was something in the works for owners of their R53 exhaust. What was that about? I don't remember seeing a followup post.

Thank you for the 50% off sale.
I purchased a rear sway bar. From all the posts, it looks like many people got great deals.
I am sure it was a big pain for Alta, so thanks for the effort.

+1 on the 50% off sale. I placed my order on the last day of sale and received my parts within 5 working days. Good communication on tracking # and billing info.

Hard to go wrong on an Alta V 2.0 supercharger pulley for 50% off!!

Thanks Alta.

Private message from Alta last week:
"First I'd like to thank you for your business, and being patient with us as we figure out a solution for you. I have spoken to Jeff and Adam about your situation, and what we came up with is this: Come in with our Alta parts (boost tubes and downpipe) with proof of purchase, and we will give you a full refund for both of the parts."

Here is what happened:
Returned defective Alta boost tubes in person with proof of purchase last week. Alta authorized the return at their office and refunded the money. Then Alta sent the parts back this week and deducted the entire refund, stating they made a mistake.

I also noticed the sound generator cap from Alta was missing after the boost tubes were already wedged in/installed so an oem sound generator hose had to be cut to fit onto the Alta boost tube. OEM part cost: $52. Total cost for Alta crap + oem replacement part: $370.

Re-purchased Alta catback adapter from Alta after they threw it out when I paid them to install a Alta dp. I did not notice this non-oem part was not returned. Alta would provide a replacement part and charged $30.

Now, do you really think Alta will accept a downpipe return or change their minds and reverse the credit again?
