We at ALTA listen to our customers and have come up with another great way to treat your R56 Mini S to a new dress-up and power accessory.
Since the beggining of the R56 we have sold our Boost Tube up grade kit. This kit consisted of two hoses to increase flow into the intercooler and out of the intercooler. This is still available for $249.99, click picture to check it out on the ALTA Performance Web Site
NOW we have split that kit up so you can modify your R56 Mini S in your own way or at your own pace.
Longer HOT Side Boost Tube. This is the one that connect to the outlet of the turbo and the inlet side of the intercooler. You can pick this part up for $149.99 on the ALTA Performance Web Site. Click the picture below to check it out on the ALTA Performance Web Site.
Shorter Cold Side Boost Tube. This is the tube that flow directly into the throttle body and manifold. You can pick this part up for $149.99 on the ALTA Performance Web Site. Click the picture below to check it out on the ALTA Performance Web Site.
This is what you folks have asked for and John came through! Only $149.99 for the hot side! What a deal! Plus this weekend there is a significant sale going on as well.
Great time to buy! Questions on the product let me know!
If you don't mind me asking, what is the advantage of having silicone tubes, if any, over hard pipes (hot/cold side)? I was always under impression that latter was more advantageous to have.
Oh thanks for my 2" antenna, just got it today, I like it

Thanks Tsar for the business and for asking.
The boost tubes (from ALTA in Silicone) remove restrictions in the plumbing by increasing the internal diameter, smoothing transitions, and removal of the muffler system built in by the factory.
There was a misunderstanding, by hard pipes I meant the ones that Exhaust Depot offers, I'm guessing they are aluminum or some kind of other lightweight metal. I would put a link in here, but I'm not sure if that's against the rules.

My bad about misunderstanding.
No I understand what you are saying. The Aluminum Tubes, to have an OD to match the couplers to the connections, MUST be a smaller ID than the Silicone type tubing. PLUS with the silicone we can make other changes to the bends, curves etc. all to help improve flow, that can't be done with aluminum tubing.
Aluminum tubing isn't bad, per se, just in this instance the ALTA Silicone is a better choice.
Would that big drop in HP be worth the gains in the middle? Just a question... how noticeable is it? It looks like you lose HP overall.

There is a slight drop at the VERY high end as the ECU pulls back boost due the decrease in restriction. The benefit at the mid / low / mid-high MORE than makes up for it. PLUS when the new ALTA ECU Tuner comes out, even more gains all the way through.
ALTA2 can explain in greater detail if you need it. Thanks!
ALTA, with the addition of your ECU product in the future, will this take out the negative gains in the upper powerband? That would seal the deal quite nicely!

YUP for 100%. We will move that boost target and remove the conflict where the OEM ECU pulls the boost. Additionally, we will be adding boost in many other areas of the rev band, plus timing, fuel etc.

The JCW has larger tubes than the S stock. What kind of gains can I expect on an 09 JCW? And do you have a larger intercooler (or maybe some kind of boost tube + intercooler + software package for the JCW)?

Thank you for your post and question!
The JCW and Cooper S both use the same plumbing on the boost side. The Inlet Hose is different, but not the boost tubes, intercooler etc.
I have a buddy with them on His 2011 and loves them and has many praises for them.

Hello to everyone at Alta. Enclosed is an email I have sent several times with no response. Please advise so I can get my R57 its christmas gifts
Hello Alta,
This is the 3rd or 4th time I have emailed you about more information for parts to upgrade my R57 cabrio. It seems like parts for my car are either not available or still in development. I would like your intake to put on my car if it is available. I would also like the exhaust. I would just like the cat back portion not the full exhaust that includes the down pipe from the turbo if possible. So in closing could you please tell me what parts are available for my car so I can purchase them and get them here by christmas.
Thanks
David
