Where is the twinscrew blower?

I recently "discovered" some tax money I didn't know I had. I've always wanted the big power mod, i.e. twincharge/turbokompressor vs the twin screw supercharger. Now that I may actually jump on it I've wondered whatever happened to the twinscrew. At this point I'd lean toward the blower mod to get more power down low in the rpm band but it seems to have disappeared from the radar screen.

Anybody heard anything?

...but you could let us know how to "discover" extra money. My daughter was born 12 days too late this year for that one. Made up for it since it was my birthday though!

Short version: paid tax on income that wasn't taxable by some obscure rule. A good accountant found it. Woohoo!

WAIT. Randy Webb just posted that he would be releasing a 'modular' [or something to that effect...] SC upgrade. To me, that seems to be the twinscrew. Look at the last WMS update.

I attempted to email Race Marque Systems and got this reply:

"Gintani Mini Works is developing a bolt fatory replacement blower for S. The rms company your refering to is not Race Marque Systems in Los Angeles

Osh"

Googling Gintani didn't help.

This Gintani/RMS deal is really weird. Are they linked or not? Is Gintani being made so that they can shed the bad RMS name? ::confused :: Someone really should figure this out, cause I don't know of many companies that are privy to other companies' secrets, and which would forward you just like that. Call me paranoid...

Anyways, sorry if you got confused, but the RMS with the twinscrew is somewhere in Europe (I think they're Dutch?). Not the one here in the US. I would have thought they'd be the same guys, but I guess not. Contact the RMS overseas. They have already developed the kit.

so why does one pic have an electric water pump and another has a pump driven by the supercharger belt

do you have the option of removing the air con compressor
this is the same on their site

I think the one that runs the water pump gets to keep the aircon... someone prove me wrong.

That's correct UAE. If you want to keep your A/C, then you'll need the electric water pump kit as well. If you give up your A/C, then you should order the brackets to mount the MINI water pump in the A/C's location. The twinscrew has no means of turning the water pump like our factory S/Cs do.

Had an Italian mechanic tell me that the water pump kit is really just a factory BMW part and custom hose-work. In other words not a "custom" pump at all, but one with BMW R&D behind its creation. Should be very robust.

I believe I read somewhere that the water pump is from a 6 Series.

Don't you need a pump to circulate the coolant in the water to air intercooler (electric) and a mechanical pump to replace the stock supercharger driven pump? The coolant in the IC isn't mixed with the radiator coolant for the engine is it? Isn't that a new dual core radiator in the kit? How does the coolant in the IC circulate and where does it circulate to? What are the braided steel lines on the IC for and where do the connect?

Yep. In the I/C photos above, the small black cylinder is the I/C coolant pump.

Well what really blew me away was the flames from the exhaust in the video that was so cool

what causes that and does that damage the cat or exhaust????
also does anybody have this mod
the site is only in German and is a bit hard to understand but it looks like for 4,000 euro you can have a 250bhp Mini about the same price as a twincharge kit

My math adds up to a lot more than 4000E

3672E for twinscrew
600E for twinscrew software
1040E for electric waterpump
1390E for water to air I/C
???? E shipping
???? $ install

6702E Plus shipping and install

6702E or just over $8,000 USD

See water pump and complete unit w/ a/c below

Yep, I see the WP for the engine coolant under the twinscrew. Whats not shown is the electric pump that connects to the two black hoses that exit the IC and end in a Y fitting, and the coresponding hoses on the other side of the IC, as well as the radiator for the IC. I imagine these are mounted elsewhere on the chassis. I don't think you have to give up the AC for this mod. Some of the pictures show a blue mechanical pump mounted under the alternator with no AC compressor. The MCS is available in Europe without AC.
I suspect the mechanical WP is for these applications.
