The '04 exhaust options...

I have an '04 MCS that I want to get a new exhaust for. I hear that '04s have a different hanger arrangement and narrows my choices. My car is a Dec. '03 build and I do not know when the 'cut off' date was for the new hangers... ?

I am looking at Borla or Miltech - I like acceleration 'grunt' but would also like a more quiet highway experience. I know this subject gets poured over again and again, but any suggestions or info out there?

Uncle, December '03 build MINI's have the old hanger. I think that it was late January '04 builds that they changed the hangers. I have the UUC exhaust. Although it is a bit loud at highway speeds, just cracking the windows solves the problem. Besides, I want people to know they were just blown off by a MINI !!!

Cheers,

I just put on my Skunk2 exhaust. there was a change in the hangers that did not match next to the batt., but I've had no problem without those two hangers. I wouldn't change it for anything. if you need I can take a few pictures.

I recently installed a Milltek on my '04 MCS. Like you I wanted the extra grunt with out making lots of noise. The Milltek comes with two sets of hanger brackets, pre '04 and '04. The install was simple, ths sound is near stock around town and marginally louder when into it hard. The tailpipes look like the JCW. Check out Webb Motorsports web site for good info on different exhaust systems. Not affliated - just a happy customer!

Cheers,
