Just installed R53 15% Pulley Upgrade

Wow what a difference 5 hrs of work and the help of my mechanic makes!

I bought the 15% Pulley and removal tool from Alta Performance. Alta's instructions said to remove all the motor mounts to do the job but after watching ModMini on youtube we decided we could do it with taking off just the one side. Everything went smoothly. Just remember to have an inch lbs tork wrench on hand. (I had to barrow one for a truck shop down the street.)

Everything is back together and now I am about to go take it down the Cali coast Hwy 1 to Monterrey.

Cheers!

P.S. If anyone needs a pulley tool I have one for sale

Yeah, the pulley is the best bang for your buck. Changes the car quite a bit and the whine is awesome.

I want to install a wideband before I add a pulley. Plus I already have a 2% ATI Overdrive harmonic balancer so I don't want to add too much heat to the intake air. And I don't know the safe limits of the supercharger if you have a 2% crank pulley. It freaks me out if I might run too hot/lean

You'll be just fine with a 2% & 15% combo.

Like he said you'll be fine as this is very common. My general rule is no matter the combo never go over 17 total. In reality the 2% and 15% combo is just a hair less than 17% as 2% on the crank doesn't directly equal that on the supercharger.
So just go with our WMW 15% and you're fine. The heat and lean concern isn't for a street car as you don't stay at high rpm like you would on the track.

If you're planning on track days I'd do just a 15% pulley and the standard size ATI. That will be better for the high RPM from the track

I am not buying another ATI damper lol. Im happy with what I have, But I will try to get some injectors and a tune at least if I go to a 15% pulley, than water/meth injection down the road.

Also wouldn't hurt to invest in a Intake temp gauge, just to watch things and compare your street temps to your track temps.
Our of course a scan gauge or similar.
