A cat back system for stock tune isn't going to sound as aggressive as you think it will, the only true way to get aggressive sound out of your exhaust is de-cat your MCS. Take it from someone who has been there and done that, those two cats are extremely restrictive and kill sound! If you must have a cat back system then I would recommend the Borla S-Type, it does sound throatier but it not aggressive without a de-caf.

The Borla S-Type has the coolest looking exhaust tips of any exhaust IMO!

Honestly, for daily driving I would stick with stock. But if you want a good sounding exhaust I have the Invidia Q300 and a catless DP and it sounds pretty rad.

I recently changed from stock to the Borla S-Type. Definitely throatier from inside the cabin (but not overwhelming) plus pop & burble are more noticeable too.

Seems to be just the right mix of aggressive noise under acceleration and slightly louder than stock growl at cruise.

Systemlord is right about the tips too

+1 to Systemlord for the advice. Another exhaust to add to the list is Remus here.

I just wish Borla made the section of tubing from the down-pipe to their cat-back section, but Borla exhausts are made right here in Corona, California so maybe that has something to do with the lack of the (entire exhaust) second de-cat section not being made/sold. Borla doesn't want to go near the cats I'm told the the man himself!

No one here would probably buy it, but iPE Innotech. 3 mode switch: ON/OFF/AUTO.

ON bypasses mufflers and it's an absolute blast
OFF goes through mufflers and its way quieter
AUTO at a designated RPM it will allow the valves to open. almost as if VTEC would kick in feeling.

It's not cheap, just throwing it out there because it is an amazing daily exhaust that I can drive in it and have it as loud as I want, and then quiet for the wife when she's in the MINI.

I have the Borla S Type on my 2012 R56s and love it. When in sport mode there is a nice pop and crackle. The sound is deep and throaty. The fit and finish are top notch. The installation was a snap as everything lined up just right. Definitely a nice system.
