ok as people are installing these, let's get some real performance results other than "it looks good" ;-) how about some measurements?

also, haven't seen anyone done ecu reflash to take advantage of the better IC...

Yes I've seen that. Now how about someone with the Helix + stage 2 ECU flash?

I've considered going Stage 1 or at least a JB+, but I'm enjoying the car under warranty first. Stage 2 just isn't going to happen for me.

ambient temp 90F, humidity 90%, scangauge to monitor in realtime

stock: IAT >100F after brief (less than 5 sec) full boost runs and a couple degrees higher than ambient cruising at 60mph.

helix: IAT never exceeds 100F after boost and a couple degrees lower than ambient while cruising.

Pretty happy with mine. Runs a couple degrees warmer than the Forge at highway speeds but I believe that's due to vehicle. R56 LCI (Forge) vs JCW (Helix). The way the JCW nose is it looks like it allows more air to pass around the inter cooler as opposed to through it. Planning on installing an air dame to fix that. Under extended boost however there is no comparison. Temps seem to run about 10-20 degrees cooler with the Helix and the Forge heat soaks much more rapidly. That said, the rate of temperature drop when you let off seems a little higher on the Forge due to lighter construction but it's also starting from a higher absolute. The Helix is well worth the investment IMHO.

Weather conditions have generally been in the upper 50's to low 70's since I installed mine. I went from stock to the Helix so there is really no comparison. I'm seeing intake air temperature being 5-7 degrees above ambient air temperature at highway speeds after the engine is fully warm. This is compared to 15-25 degree differences with the stock FMIC. In traffic the difference isn't as dramatic, but my NM intake is probably to blame as its sucking in hot air when I'm not moving. Looking forward to seeing how it handle the hot humid weather next summer!
